Rules and Regulations for EurasianNation Forums
The purpose of the EurasianNation Forums is to provide a place where people with an interest in Eurasian or other multiracial/ interracial/ transracial issues can connect, discuss, and share their ideas in a positive way. The following are guidelines every member of will be expected to abide by.
First and foremost, EAN membership is for people who like the site and who engage other members and the moderating staff and admin in a positive manner. Disruptive, subversive, negative 'participation' will result in a forfeit of your account.
Your first post should be to introduce yourself. Please do that here:
eurasiannation.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=membersonly&action=display&thread=10227&page=1#6801
Rules:
1) Respect your fellow EAN members.
2) Do not create multiple accounts. Do not let other people use your account. One person, one account. Post your general location in your user profile. Do not use a proxy server to access EAN unless you have no other choice (China, for example) and PM the administrator to explain. EAN community building is based on openness and trust - accounts with mismatching profile and IP information or known proxy servers will be deleted.
3) Do not create an account simply to log in and view the "Members Only" areas of the site. Users who do this will have their accounts removed. After registration, post an introduction and join the discussion. If you do not want to join in the discussion, then do not login - instead, browse the site as a guest. Never cross-post anything from the 'members only' or 'globetrotter' section to another part of EAN or to another forum. Posts, pictures, etc., from those areas are meant to be private.
4) Post your message in the most relevant forum. Please review the descriptions under each forum topic to determine which forum a new thread belongs in.
5) Messages containing the following will not be tolerated:
--personal attacks on any EAN member
--racist, sexist, homophobic or otherwise discriminatory and/or hateful language
--links to pornographic sites
--links to and graphic sexual language or images
--otherwise offensive images
--threats of death or violence
--discussion in languages other than English
--flooding / spam
--ignoring moderator requests
6) Conforming pictures that are NOT SAFE FOR WORK will be linked *only* and noted as NSFW. Many companies have sexual harassment policies that could get someone in deep trouble if they are even surfing through (what you think are harmless) bikini pictures. In the USA, that could be construed as creating a "hostile work environment" if someone else were to see them on a monitor. Stupid? Debate it! But that's the reality, and we don't want ANYONE using EAN to ever have to deal with that issue. So, NSFW pictures are links, and noted as such. Thanks.
7) No long-running feuds. EAN will maintain a peaceful decorum. Spirited debate is welcome, petty long-running discontent with another user or with the site itself, for whatever reason, is not welcome.
8) Do not engage in discussions about other users' personal lives unless they have started the conversation and defined the scope of the discussion. Even if they have, if they ask for people to end the discussion, respect that. In other words, respect people's privacy, stay out of their business, and do not gossip or rumormonger on the public forum.
9) If you feel that these guidelines are not being followed, or that a user's behavior is being overlooked, please use the private messaging system to contact a moderator with the link to the post(s) in question if possible.
EurasianNation's moderators are responsible for determining what falls and does not fall within these guidelines. If a user is not falling within the guidelines, is abusing their privileges as an EAN member, or is acting in an otherwise destructive manner, that user will be dealt with at the discretion of the moderating team. This can include warnings, editing/deleting of posts, and/or temporary suspension of posting privileges. If a user continually repeats this behavior, they may be permanently banned.
Actions may be taken against disruptive behavior that is not necessarily listed within these guidelines. Use common sense.
If you feel that a moderator has been unfair in their actions against you or another member, please use the private message function to discuss the issue. You may contact the moderator directly, another moderator, or the Site Administrator (Admin).
Things to keep in mind about moderators:
• Moderators will not necessarily send you a PM if they take any action against a violator.
• Moderators are users just like you, and they volunteered to help the site. They cannot always monitor all the topics/threads regularly.
• If you have a complaint about action taken against you, PM a moderator. Posting about such topics will get you banned from the forums, sooner rather than later.
