Okay, let's grab the rest of us, an American that wants to be/tries to be English. ;D Listen to her, express yourself. If you have NSFW stories, share'em just because I don't have any doesn't mean I won't read them.

Hope you having a good sleep. Sometimes I wonder if some people ever get any sleep. Sorry the jack johnson tune, just didn't click with me. It sounds 'nice', like a nice dream. It reminded me of toys and a doctors clinic. Just didn't relate to it. I think the 'were going to be good friends' struck me odd. Someone once approached me that way, went along with it and found out he was a superior being! Always giving me orders, well the title of the tune. I think he just wanted to use me to get around a bit, social mobility thing So I ran in another direction I'm not sure where he is now. Love this title: So what? and what is wrong with being american and wanting to be english. Wanting? maybe that would lead to dissapointment. or appeciating some aspects of american culture like 'So What?'^ Its not a 'exterior tone' thing either. Really. Jazz. Just firing into space here. If you understand your ABCs inside out and can pull it off; play - and that is a state of mind. Understanding your ABCs is concentration and hard work. Playing is relaxing and singing. Now having a free state of mind...that is worth everything. That is my belief. There are plenty of wannabees, too many, wanting to wear the shades and looking like the real deal, that will destroy good talent. But really not that many around, just hobbyists, that like to drink ales and bitters after play, discussing composition and concepts, blah, play a bit here for charity, that sort of thing. Its not for everyone. I always wonder why the bother. U know what? I am really embarassed to be posting here. The ettiquette, a post and reply sprawl here. I wonder if admin is getting a little anxious. Really, I would be embarassed for that. If its okay and all jazz then i guess its ok. So how long have you lived in the UK? When did you return to US? Born here? You must have an interesting job. You intrigue me. BTW what lampshade on your head? Maybe you had a bright idea or was it something else? Something beginning with farm? The wrong farm here, where NSFW jokes don't go with workers chop-suey lunchbreaks. I can tell your not of this board Only joking. Just take care. Other people that come to this board read into other things. Birds of a feather flock together. Thats birds and other friendly birds. But I am sure you will hit back with that one! That house of pain tune was great! I remember this one. I remember the jokes back then and those waste of time feuds.

I don't know, we did do a lot to get out of that marriage to England, it seems like hanging up pictures of your ex all over your house. Not healthy. Miles Davis, my dad would buy you a scotch. I'm as boring as they come. Never been to England, but am close to those who spent an extended time there. Work is just work for me, i do things and they pay me. Another day another dollar...

He's some really old school Reznor, for anyone who's interested. Pretty Hate Machine is their best album imo.
Newer stuff...

No no pictures of ex's. Sometimes people break in and enter and plaster those things on your wall. Then you get unwanted phone calls and some very unreasonable people on the other end. I think that is called a setup or frame. Rules are rules. Then I like to mix it up a little. Comme ci, comme ca. Blah. But rules are rules. I self-award myself, gives me a little confidence. Was that what you were thinking of? Isn't technology amazing! Thank your father for the scotch. I would of liked to have returned by buying one in return. Yes jazz. No need to say anymore. I get the drift. Shame. There were other things to that are connected to the jazz concept; stuff you appreciate like liberty and freedom. This board too. Your not boring! Well...I am. This tune is a good mix. Makes me laugh in an isolated way. Sur le fin - Good tune. Bad title. I just didn't like the title of the piece of music. I bet you were saving that till last There is a rare punk tune called 'We are the romans here!" By a band called the Bolton hillbilllies, I think. See if i can find it. UK band. Who are your favourite: 1. Beverley Hillbillies 2. Adamms Family 3. Rock Horror Picture Show 1 - because I am never going to meet the original script and hollywood characters, not that I care, not my bizness that way. 2 - I just don't understand them? And they look gangsta? 3- They just make me barf. Must be some kind of hell. I am going to leave this board, and its cyberspace and state jurisdiction. Might read some news websites and get really depressed. The grand question "Why?"

I liked: -Adamms Family- don't know why, probably a little too close to reality. -Flash Gordon-my parents are old. -PBS nature documentaries-I'm strange. I especially liked Attenborough and Suzuki.

"Who the hell is that rabbit! He should be dead or working in a menial job! He's a rabbit not a human and looks nothing like mario lanza. Go call cousin vinny, you know he knows whatshisface the agent."
"Hi Stan, its Vinny" "Hey wots up" "The matriarch says kill this f**** rabbit." "We can't vinny. But we can give a job as an alien" "Yeah and when thats jobs over send him our way" "Gotcha"
Monks Dream:
I'll throw one back at you!
Here is something about learning and practicing. Now I would like you to watch the whole 9:30! It will warp your mind! LOL but very educational and keep you on your toes and might develop an interest and explore your worlds musical heritage. Suzuki bikes and gibson ES-175s and a vintage tube amp!
It will sound all 'greek' to you. Unless you are a secret player!
If you are interested which i doubt go back to the major scale, pick a key like 'C' (There are 12 keys a lot of work) Learn the 7 modes of the diatonic major scale and intervals, chord theory (stacking thirds, triads, 7ths, extended notes), diatonic harmony/melody, circle of 4ths/5ths, the chromatic 12-tone system that sits under the diatonic system. Pepper it along the way with synthetic scales e.g. blues pentatonic scalem, etc and fun with some easy blues I-IV-V and jazz II-V-I progressions. Voila you are on your way. And no cutting corners!!! You are excellence.
Leave your jobs now! and study music! it so much more rewarding and better for the universe. I know you can do it helloagain! you work hard on this board! and have the potential.
Ooops I'm back here semi-illegally, how socially inept i have become.

Your a good sport helloagain. charles mingus? EA mom? He always looked a little oriental. Not that it matters but interesting. I had a friend once whose parents were from the carribean but had chinese heritage. Happy guy. Jeff Beck "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat". Thelonius Monk. A british 60s session guitarist and a great player in his own right. I tell you something about the blues scale in jazz. As a model it consists of 6notes but falls into the family of synthetic scales; pentatonic 5notes. The sixth note is called the 'blue note', have u heard of the blue note jazz label and NY jazz club of the same. But anything goes, so I modify the blues scale to add 7notes, and for some of the notes there is no interval to the next e.g. chromatic. That is why there is a lot of dissonance in jazz/blues harmony. But there is a lot more to that. Jimi Hendrix used a lot of non standard rock and standard blues chords. The dominant 7th sharp 9 chord. A lot of dissonance. And he used the minor pentatonic and blues scales. ere we go, ere we go, screeching those dissonance chords: Learning blues / rock guitar is easy. It will take at least a month to strengthen the fingers to play chords and the pentatonic and blues scales. Heard the 3 chord trick. Its based on the blues. 3 chords, then just solo a minor pentatonic or blues scale over the chords you might want to strum. E7-A7-B7 (chords in E). Heaps of fun!

I love Jimi, and lol, didn't know anyone redid Goodbye Pork Pie Hat, je did a good job. ;D My fingers are far too weak and useless from years of fishing tea bags out of cups. For all of us, remember who you care for and who cares for you, what's really important in this world. Don't lose sight of it.

I would say the same thing. For EAs. Don't be too good at anything. I was. I became a good musician, a competent computer programmer, math guy, quite a good martial artist and I got busted. It put the wooden white boys to shame; they wiretapped me. It is evil. Deep black magic. Torture. The bad bit was it attracted the ladies like a moth to light and other dark dubious characters. Ladies of the wrong type; ladies that should be with claiment men. I played the game. Then the game ended. Now for me it is the end game. I was innocent. They are now using frames and setups. They look for the devil in the detail. If you are going to be good at anything do something that you are passionate about. Have the right people around you at the core, that care. I got targetted and will probably end up goats cheese for greeks. Beware of outsiders, strangers, people, they'll infiltrate you. They are stalkers. Smear you and character assasinate you. The rule of the mob. BB spying. But then again watch out for the watchers, they watch everyone. Best of luck and take care my EA bretheren.

I'm the shy, retiring type myself. That song reminds me of Richie Valens. Jelly Roll Morton!
