I think some things such as light skin, higher nose bridges, rounder deep set eyes are universally attractive and most of those facial features are found on caucasians.

European and white americans who have bleached blonde hair get really bronze fake tans which suit them and asians use whitening creams to look fairer.

Actually, I'm realizing that I'm an Asian wannabe. Many pictures of me are indoors, or under orange lamplight, which makes me look tan, but I'm realizing that I'm actually pretty lightskinned in clear daylight. Now I wish I actually was darker.

Laborers have dark (tan) skin. Rich people stay inside and have fairer skin. Light skin is a sign of wealth / class / status, like it or not (I don't like it). Women golfing in Hong Kong have enormous hats with cloth all around making them look like something out of Star Wars just so they don't get a ray of sunshine on their face while playing. Every cosmetic, cream, acne medicine, etc., in Thailand has a "whitening" version.

Quit tip-toeing around the race issue like a bunch of politically correct wimps. Light skin is a sign of racial superiority (Western Europeans and East Asians) vs. dark skin (Africans, Australian aboriginals) and various gradients of color in between. In economics, it's called the North-South divide. Countries in the Northern temperate zones have all attained higher levels of economic, social and technological development than Southern tropic countries. I don't think I really need to illustrate this fact with examples. The percieved beauty in light-skin is simply evolutionary instinct. Just as animals in nature want to breed with partners of equal or superior genetics, humans also follow the same guidelines. The light-skin is simply an indication of the individual's genetic superiority. We basically are attracted to those with light-skin because we are simply following our evolutionary instinct to breed with the those with the best genes. Of course it is evolutionary. But it doesn't explain Black women's general preference for black men, or the high black male/white famale couple ratio to white male/black female ratio. You also forget that in America, Indians, who have very dark skin, are amongst the highest earners in the whole nation. You also ignore that fat people used to be attractive for it once represented wealth. This is not the case anymore. Please explain those statistics. In essence, if you go by that evolutionary preference, you're nothing but primitive ape who flings feces around and gets attracted to the biggest primate who pounds his chest.

They've been simply brainwashed by the Western standard of beauty because the West still has a stranglehold of the world.

my mother has told me many stories of how she was teased mercilessly for her dark skin.... she is very self conscious of it and avoids the sun like the plague. My mother is brown all year long. I basically ended up the same way. However the thought of spending time in the sun and getting darker has never bothered me....
I actually prefer to be darker complected....I find it's more forgiving to scars and pimples if and when I get them ....

We basically are attracted to those with light-skin because we are simply following our evolutionary instinct to breed with the those with the best genes. I beg to differ, the light-skin racialism that exists in Western Europe and in East Asia are civilisation's mechanics to unite and despise other foreign people. I know of Western Europe's foundation of racialism. Read here: eurasiannation.proboards48.com/index.cgi?board=relationships&action=display&thread=9870&page=3As for East Asia, it's either a simple case of fearing who looks different from you, or colonised mentality imposed on them by the Europeans. Even though I am not dark-skinned, I don't have any racialist mentality that clouds my thoughts enough to make me neglect the beauty that exists in all dark-skinned races including Africans and Australian Aboriginals.

So if Asians prefer people with light skin and Euros prefer brown skin..... They will marry some other race? I got the lighter skin in my family. I burn easier, but can eventually become browner in the end. But I dont know how good its for the skin to be burnt... However, I was teased alot by my darker skinned brothers, and my Norwegian friends for being so "pale". One EA once saw me with a bikini on or something, and she said its strange that Im EA and being so white. One of my friends said: Oh, your so pale! Even we re much browner than you. All your pigments collected in your hair But one of my halfsisters is whiter than me, but shes a red head! So doesnt count that much....
