I dislike inconsistency in law. If a person can be tried in a court of law as an adult, vote, go fight and potentially die, get married, have children, own a home, a car, yaddayaddayadda at age 18..... Why in HELL can they not crack open a beer when they get home from their 9-5 for the next 3 years? Either make legal adulthood 21, or change the drinking age back down to 18. It makes no damn sense to me. Cosigned. As mentionned, people WILL drink even if they're not legally allowed, they'll actually be more inclined to do so if it's forbidden. Legislators need to get their head out of the sand and acknowledge that teens under 21 ARE drinking, so might as well educate them. To me, this is as absurd as wanting sex-ed classes to preach abstinence. Teens will have sex anyway, teach them about condoms, even if you're not happy your kid is getting it on. Plus, if the US lower their drinking age, I might see less drunken frat boys coming here because drinking age is 18.
