I've studied counselling and psychiatry trust me on this that many conditions can easily be wrongly classified as psychological disorder. Including the mental well-being of many mixed people in sedentary countries.

The study speaks about percentages, not about total numbers. Exactly. And a higher percentage of westernized Hapas are more likely to have the funding and cultural belief to see a shrink, than say a recent Guamanian immigrant. Wrong again. There is no link between acceptance of psychiatric help and the ratio of mental illness in studied population. The percentages is 2 times higher than normal(do you know how percentages work? i guess not). Percentages are just a ratio, which remains constant indifferrently from the total numbers of examined subjects.

Many mixed people go through a lot of hell - end of story. I spit on the social system as well as the mental department even though I'm a qualified counsellor having worked in the field for a full year.

I personally think we, as normal minded persons, should not be concerned so much about others' mental illness just because we share the same ethnic roots.
Mental illness often occurs in people with identity confusion, as in case of many biracials people. The maximum thing we can do, is to help these people sharing with them our experience of life.

There has been some research decades ago indicating that in some countries there is a higher ratio of mentally ill who migrate away, whereas in others , there is a higher incidence of mentally ill among who stay. I am not sure of which countries are which, so I wont comment further, but it is an interesting thought.

I read in some swedish newspaper that adopted asian girls have the biggest mental issues because of teasing about looks and something with sexual harassment.
I think people in the North also have problems with depression due to lack of sun.
Mental disorders among mixed people might be due to a bigger identity crisis than normal, which isnt always a bad thing. Depends how you manage the crisis I guess ;D

All mixed race people you pick up will pretty much be westernized. For full Asians, you'll be picking up foreign born ones along with native born ones. You're comparing apples to oranges. 100% of oranges are colored orange. That doesn't tell you anything.

I think its natural for mixed people (eurasians) to be either Westernized, Easternized or just culturally mixed. Its hard to balance everything equally you know

^ Some even prove the saying "All their strengths, none of their weaknesses" by being their own very individual.

No it's an orange! All oranges are green before they ripen.

I have a very strong immune system, but Idk if that's because I'm mixed or just because I take care of myself. I take taichi and most of the ppl in my taichi class are monoracial and they are like never sick. I also go to the gym and most of the ppl I know there hardly get sick and I guess that comes from their eating habits and working out. Interesting theory, I want to research it more.
