I´ve been to a Coldplay, The Killers, Death Cab for Cutie, Block Party, Franz Ferdinand, Jack´s Mannequin and Juanes concerts. I love punk-rock bands and latin music. This year I am planning to see more acts! I was only a couple of feet away from Juanes when he had his La Vida tour last year in Spain! I am on the right. ;D

Juanes is cool. That camisa negra song was ubiquitous when I lived in Latin America. My other favorite spanish language artist is Manu Chao, though strictly speaking he is one of those "world music" guys since he sings in at least 3 different languages. I'd love to see him in concert and "take in" those crowd smells.

Que voy a hacer, je ne sais pas...and yes, I am sure his concert would be somewhat of a fire hazard.

So... I want need to share my squealy-fan story. [This one might make animo jealous ] I'm rather large fan of Bloc Party. And i got to see them when they came to Perth in late Nov. My friends waited a few hours before the doors opened, we stood in front of the mosh pit for 2 hours before the pre-acts came on. After 3 hours of Pre-acts. BLOC PARTY came on! YAY I was with a large group of asians-and we copped a lot of s*** from white australian bogans "Get out the way you f-ucking fat asians" Nice. I am the one far upper left corner [suze puffy eyes ] Btw My friend second from the left front row is 1/4 asian HERE IS THE GOOD BIT So Kele the singer is singing Ion square, a song not really well loved BUT I KNEW ALL THE WORDS TO. SO im singing along, and I think i catch Kele's eye contact-but I didnt think much of it. NEXT SONG he plays Mecury [more upbeat popular song] KELE RUNS TO THE FENCE RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! Everyone is grabbing his arms, but he is directly in front of me so I GRAB HIS CHEST Security pulls him away and i feel someone hold my hand, I thought it was security so i was like eh. BUT the security parted and it was him squeal!!!!EVIDENCEYES! that is Kele's elbow! My friend on the side of me took that photo. i.e HE WAS IN FRONT OF ME Most of the photos we took there were no hands/heads in the way because we were that close up, but it looks like we have wicked zoom so... Also just to show you how many people he DIDN'T touch -sigh- thanks for putting up with that. My mood has lifted so much more now that I have relived the memory.

I also like Mana and Jarabe de Palo. So... I want need to share my squealy-fan story. [This one might make animo jealous ] Hehe, sorry Fiona. I dont particularly have a man crush on Kele. That Eurasian drummer Matt Tong was funny. I remember him taking his shirt of and posing his "muscular built" which was nothing basically. Skinny guy! LoL! ;D

I've been to Ozzfest '01-'04 plus a lot others but my favorite was Carnival of Sins with Motley Crue. I liked that fact that they really put on a show. It was great entertainment.

Motley Crue? Did Tommy break out his third leg for a snare solo?

Got to see Radiohead with my sister last fall, and that was pretty amazing. I kept missing them when they came to Toronto, and they had to reschedule once when I had tickets so I was so happy to finally get to see them. They played Talk Show Host, which was unexpected and amazing.
A few months ago I saw the Pumpkins two nights in a row at Massey Hall (one of the nicest venues in Toronto, every seat is a good seat). My friend flew all the way from Halifax (!) so I figured I could take a day off work and pay to see them twice. It was pretty awesome, but they had some really indulgent jam sessions that I could have done without.
Fiona, my sister and I are thinking about seeing Bloc Party next month when they come to Toronto. Don't think I'll be able to hold his hand, but that is a pretty sweet story.

I saw Maceo in Den Haag in 2003, and it's kind of hard to *avoid* seeing TOP summertime around the SF Bay Area. Glad to hear your little brother could come along!

Interestingly, the last concert I went to (Nov. 2008 in HK) featured the exact same artist as in the very first concert I ever went to (around Oct 1979 in Boston) as a scared (going to my first concert).
Billy Joel. He did not have his first #1 hit until 1980, so he was still on the rise then.

I saw Dvorak's "Rusalka" opera a few weeks ago. It was quite awesome. The opera is essentially a retelling of the Hans Christan Anderson fairy tale, The Little Mermaid. I was thrilled to finally see one my favourite arias, "Song to the Moon" www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwuNqcKUxto performed in its proper context. It felt like watching a dream come to life.
