My Father died this morning at home of possible heart attack. He was 77 years old. I do not think that the impact has been felt by my immediate family and we are all informing everyone who needs to know.
You hear about it happenning to others and you never imagine it happenning to a relative!

Szymon - you have my sincere condolences. I'll keep your father in my prayers.
77 is a ripe old age so I'm sure he (and you) have many happy memories from years passed. Feel free to share some of them here as I'd be more than happy to listen.
This comes of little comfort, but I know some of us here have lost loved ones recently so you're certainly not alone.

Very sorry to hear this, I think what's most important now is that you and your family learn to accept this and move on with your life, after all, I'm sure your father wouldn't have wanted you all to let his passing hinder you in life.

it's hard to imagine what that must be like. were you close? my grandmother passed away last year and that was pretty hard. as rob said, 77 is a full and long life. still the loss of a parent must be hard...

It is so hard to initally accept that someone has died; death is so final and irrevocable. If it is a parent, we feel diminished, we feel we become less. I am very sorry t hear about your loss.

For all the people whose parents are still alive:
- Get to know your parents. Their passing only occurs once, but it is permanent.

Condolences to you and your family.
My grandfather recently died too in his late 70's. It's still a young age in a Western point of view. I regretted not to have been closer to him. Just like what Jefe said not all of us knows when we will be gone (even if we considered ourselves young and healthy).
Ciao

God bless you and your family, Szymon. I'm sorry to hear of your father's passing. You and your family must be going through a very difficult time right now, but remember, every cloud, as dark as some of them get, has a silver lining!!!!!
