For most of my life, I've been aware of my mixed race, but there are times where I look at myself in the mirror and really don't see any Eurasian-ness incorporated in to me-does this happen to anyone else? Ideally, I'd like to look half-and-half, like a majority of the members on this forum do. Yup, I can relate.. I feel uncomfortable telling people i'm mixed because they say I don't look like it.

This girl apparently studied in Japan and is obsessed with anime and all things Asian. She walked into work one day wearing a kimono and some ancient style samurai hat or whatever she said it was, and not as a joke or for any special purpose. I'm telling you, this chick's a dork for real. The label you're looking for is otaku. Anywho, she sounds like an interesting character. So you say her personality is the only thing ruining it? Speaking of personality ruining things... You need to cut that out. Always with them negative waves. You're going to need a good personality to compensate for your looks. I kid, I remember the first avatar pic you posted of yourself--the one you took down real quick ;D. I didn't see anything ugly. I thought you we kinda pretty. Your personality ain't too bad either--though a little stubborn. Anywho, hype is already laying up on the therapy couch with a broken heart. We don't need you going down from self-inflicted wounds. I do appreciate your advice and analysis, Montel Williams. Couple things that need to be clarified. I must've made some offensive stink with my remarks that correlate people who have in interest in Asian culture as being dorks. I'll step back a bit on that statement and acknowledge that the two don't always go hand in hand, but it's a stereotype I've developed with white people like that throughout the years. My bad. Thank you for the compliment, but I don't remember posting a picture of myself on here. You must be confusing me with another female user on these boards. Nevertheless, I'll gladly take the compliment all for myself. Lastly, there are no self-inflicting wounds here. You say cut it out with the stubbornness, I say cut it out with the stiffness. Always so tense and taking everything so seriously, boy how do you not have cardiac health issues already? (But seriously, thanks for the note.)

I'm too manly and too black to be Montel Williams. ;D I kid, Montel Williams. Please don't gossip to other women about me. Actually, sweetfart, I didn't know that you had those kind of feelings about "white people" until you gave this apology. I'm actually offended now. Umm, why don't you post your picture in the member section? I'll let you know if I remembered correctly. I pretty sure it was you... It was probably the most non-rediculous image you've had as your avatar. Curly black hair, big bright smile. Your hand swept your hair to side a little bit. Does anyone else remember??? Maybe it was a joke that I never got... Ow, my stiff heart. BTW, I wasn't aiming to take down your stubborness. You perform that characteristic tastefully. It's your obession with being a "really effing ugly EA" that bothers me. That's like cutting your wrist in public. If no one steps in to tell you that you are wrong and that you shouldn't say such things, then you might get the crazy idea that it is true.

Woo wee, you had me scared for a second. I don't have curly black hair, I never give big smiles in photos (if I smile too big you can see my double chin pops out), and sweetfart has too much taste to try to sweep the hair to the side. Maybe someday when I'm drunk enough I'll post my pic in the members only section but for now I'm still in my shell. Don't get too caught up my self-depricating humor. People tend not to laugh when females make jokes about their own appearance (perhaps bc many times these females are really just fishing for compliments?), whereas they laugh when it's from one of the boys. Maybe I've done a bad job at conveying it through typed words but I've always thought of myself as one of the boys. I like to tease myself on my own flaws. I'm probably more content with myself than even most of the attractive people you'll ever come across.

It had nothing to do with any of the threads you said here. And that's good that you say what you mean (I mean, it's not good that you're speaking negative about yourself but at least you're not doing it for fake attention). Nothing to tear about.

I'm probably more content with myself than even most of the attractive people you'll ever come across. Ohh man, I hate it when people don't understand my humor. It's usually people who haven't known me long enough, but sometimes my jokes are a little dark or twisted. Group of us were talking about drinking today and I went off on a tangent about how social drinking was dumb. Went something like this: "Screw social drinking. When I start drinking I'm just going to sit in my room and stare and the wall *simulates drinking out of bottle*." This gets some laughs and questions in return, I respond: "If I need company I'll just buy an M9 *simulates dismantling an m9 and slapping it back together*" Most everyone thought it was funny, but there had to be that one person who got butthurt Threatened to refer me to mental health. The joke died there and I had to spend the next few minutes explaining how it wasn't a suicide joke, but one on anti-social behavior. Real cool that you're comfortable with yourself. Hardly matters what you are so long as you're happy.

This happened at the German market the other day. German flirty man: Where are you from? Me: England. *towns name* German: *looks at me*.... You don't seem very English Me: Oh, well I am from England *nervous laugh* German: Where are your parents from? Me: Devon. German: ...Oh.
ALWAYS HAPPENS LIKE THAT!! xD Anyone agree? People here are usually far too polite to say 'what are you?'
People always stare at me when I go out with my mother, or boyfriend etc. [anyone who is not a teen girl] It's usually just Asians though. Kind of staring really intently at my face. Kind of awkward.

Guy I work with, "I said moshi moshi to an Asian out there and she ignored me, she should know what that means."
Me, "She looks Chinese, definitely not Japanese in any case, moshi moshi is Japanese."
Guy, "It's the same thing."
Me, "Don't be racist to the customers."
Guy, "I'm not racist against Asians, I watched the Karate Kid last night."

I'm one of the Eurasians that barely look East Asian. But commonly if someone asks my race it's always: "Are you... Eskimo Italian Spanish Portuguese Part Arab" When I tell them I'm half Chinese they're shocked... one guy said to me: "No way you're a Ching Ching?! You look white"

Apparently, I cannot be EA because all my brothers and sister look different to each other and we do not have much of a resemblence to each other! I proudly told the speaker that I was not a hillbilly!
