So,i'm gonna lose my Polynesian card for this,but... i've never eaten Spam.despite the fact that it was a staple in my parents' household.just couldn't force myself to. so my question to you guys is,what does it actually taste like?ham or something?am i really missing anything? ^It tastes like a thick and soft ham. I think spam is alright, but I'm with helles - corned beef is much better and I really like it with rice. It goes well with diced potato and onions added in. edit: this one looks more like it LOL, so Filo! Jak loves corned beef also, but unfortunately it just resembles too much like canned dog food for me. Also, you really shouldn't eat much processed meats. I use to love them, I ate billions of spam/baloney/salami etc until around last year I learnt the difference between that and real meat. Now I understand what those people meant, you may as well be eating ground up fibreglass. Now it's, fresh cut steak for me anydayyy. Nothing beats a lean high quality cut, the best you can afford (within reason). Edit: So my suggestion for an EA food would be; a T-bone steak on fried rice (with some kind of sauce, ketchup perhaps).

my aunt used to cook us fried spam and egg with baked beans and rice - thats kinda EA meal i guess.. spam tastes.. like fatty ham i guess, a bit spongey texture too? I dont like it and prefer corned beef, which is also a very love/hate type of food. I still have cravings for this! ;D Any honky cafe should serve "Spam and Egg on instant noodles", lol.

^Maybe peanut butter instead of vegemite? Kind of reminds me those peanut butter crackers --> you can only find in oriental stores/asia.

We've yet to make Ty see the light in this respect. Now I feel silly thinking that it was only our family's special dish. Filos must be tucking into it all around the world.

Spam has crispy texture if you slice it thinner and fry overhigh heat. You can also bake it as ham, scoring it with embedded cloves and baking it it in pineapple juice. a variation of corn beef I used t have as a child, was with tomaros and onions, then made into patties with mashed potatos and fried as croquettes - delicious! A Samoan taught me to also cook it with spinach and coconut milk.
