I dunno if this qualifies as being an "expression," but I hate the word "whatever." It bugs me to no end when people use it so flippantly.

^ That ranks up there with "I'm just sayin'..."
Just saying WHAT?

^^ I hate whatever too. There's is absolutely nothing you can say once you got a whatever from someone else.
Come to think of it, a 'nothing' can be pretty bad as well, especially when it comes after "I'm just sayin'......................................."

haven't really grown up with those expressions but been hearing them from my boss at least once or twice a day for the last two years: "pin it down and sort it out" and "self-motivation".

^ you would LOVE my boss 'Everything's really easy. Once you on highway, once you done good start, everything's really easy, like a piece of cake. And if not, you just pin it down and sort it out and get back to highway. It's easy, ey?!? EY?!?!?!' (grammatical errors included!!!)

(grammatical errors included!!!) hahah!! sorry you have to put up with that thesa. i can imagine the look on your eyes as you're busy "pinning" it down and sorting it out". ;D. i've put up with so much of this crap in my career i can't tell you how much fun it is to dispense it now! (as a joke of course.... "just get it done" is a favourite) i actually like it when i get questions and i enjoy solving problems with people.... what drives me batsh*t is dealing with smart-asses who pretend to know everything, nod their head entirely through your initial instructions, don't ask questions, and then proceed to f*ck it up. grrrrrrrr.

Yes! All those "but..." phrases! "I know you're busy, but... "
People think by phrasing it that way, it makes it OK to do whatever it is they are asking. Then they get all indignant if you tell them to bugger off.

People have to stop using the word "awesome" for things that are not, in fact, awesome. People at work use it far too much in an attempt to have "energy" and "pep" and sound like they don't hate their lives and it pisses me off. My passing you a pen is not "awesome." And if it *does* strike AWE into you, then I feel quite sorry for you. English has thousands of wonderful adjectives, let's select the appropriate ones.
Oh, I also hate the phrase "to tell the truth." Which just makes me infer that when you *don't* say that phrase, you're always spewing forth lies. It's such a ridiculous phrase which can be simplified by using the word "really" or "honestly."
