I don't understand any Asian language, so the songs I enjoy are like instrumentals to me. I do like one song by Utada, also: It's a kind of Alt-Pop Synth/Electronic sound.

i like a lot of Asian music, I mostly listen to South (gotta love A.R. Rahman, Alish Chinai etc), and South East (like pop!T-five, A bit of Mulan Jamila, coklit etc.), I also have to say I love the Bali Monkey Chant! always have,so mesmorising!
But my all time favourite asian song is 'Daigoro's Theme' from the kickass film Shogun Assassin (love the whole soundtrack) which I can't find ANYWHERE!!!

^Speaking of instrumental music. This probably Asian in instrument only (Celtic influence and electronic mixing). The Twelve Girls Band has always been easy on the ears--and the eyes. Mitsubishi had nude (female) taiko drummers in one of their commercials. I found a video of the group but not the commercial. Different group:

Traditional instrumentals are the best in my opinion, each culture has a unique taste most of the time.
@palaver
On the last video are they taiko drummers? Where does it come from? It sounds almost Mongol-like shamanistic drumming =/

Finally got my Shogun Assassin Soundtrack! can u believe it? been tryna get it for a stretch now, and after I posted on here, i found a dude that was willing to share it w/ me!
Ok this isn't Asia but, another form of instrumental native music I like is Native American. My sister had a CD of it and when I used to listen to it my adrenaline would go up (to the faster paced songs).

This is from the otherside of Asia, but Asia nontheless. It's Islamic dhikr (chanting), the Bali Monkey chant made me think of it. Usually dhikr is did with just voices (and sometimes drums) for instruments, but this one has sitar i believe. And another one from this movie....

Also, my wife told me of this Chinese movie theme as well: ^ Wish I could fight like that I've seen this movie, "Once Upon A Time In China" (aka. Wong Fei Hung), and also the sequal ^^ I liked the opening theme for these two movies:

^ hope you'll find them, Jet Li is awesome in these movies... but our versions are dubbed to English, so it's kind of weird to listen to him talk with a different voice, lol!
More music:
Theme song from popular K-drama "Boys Over Flowers"
