edit: all actors
I caught this on tv tonight and instantly thought that the females (and maybe males too) of EAN would appreciate a thread being made on this.
Normally I couldn't really care about people going gaga over other people based on their mere looks, eg. "zomg he/she is like so hot!", to me it's quite boring. However, in this show the various commentators weren't just discussing looks but the other aspects that contributed to the mens' overall image (character, talent, career, persona, roles in film etc). Subsequently, I found it interesting to listen to.
For the record, this was on '20 to 1', a show on channel 9 where I believe they do a countdown on each show according to whatever the topic is for that week. Tonight's episode was about the, 'hottest men in hollywood history'.
Keep in mind that in order to make this list, I'm guessing that the man must have had a significant impact on Hollywood film throughout his career, in addition to just being perceived as good-looking and the latest, 'in-thing', that not many people have really heard of.
I've tried to use good pics of each of them.
20. Daniel Craig
19. Harrison Ford
18. Zac Efron (I think they had to include him because he was a special guest commentator on the show, I'm not knocking him, but I wouldn't say he's had an impact on hollywood history big enough for such a list, given how new he is).
17. Mel Gibson
16. Michael Douglas
15. Hugh Grant
14. Tom Cruise
13. Richard Gere
12. Bruce Willis
11. Denzel Washington
10. Johnny Depp
09. Marlon Brando
08. Leonardo Di Caprio
07. Paul Newman
06. George Clooney
05. Cary Grant
04. Brad Pitt
03. Sean Connery
02. James Dean
01. Hugh Jackman (I think an aussie was always gonna make #1)
Feel free to discuss, however keep in mind the criteria (influential career, persona etc and not just looks). Maybe you can give your suggestion as to the man who should make the list, given I missed one spot during the show.
Reading the comments of other people, common names stiff to miss the list included Al Pacino, Matt Damon and Jude Law.
Anyway, over to you EAN.
