over fights which are natural in society. "Civilisation" really sickens me at times. I think that you're starting to touch on something that bothers me a lot. Generally, I feel that our interactions with one another, including but not limited to confrontations, have become very processed and unnatural. We've become afraid to act on impulse, and I think that that's just wrong, and not to sound too tinfoil hat-ey, but it sometimes feels like we've been purposefully neutered as a means of control. While I do value intellect, I also value honesty and the purity of raw emotion. Translating any emotion or impulse to words is kind of like dubbing a cassette tape- it will never be a true reflection of the original.

I don't know, I like all of the colorful insults we have nowadays. Back in your caveman days all they did was grunt at each other. The fact that we are all products of socialization - be it in civilized society or like Mowgli in the jungle book (or anywhere in between) - doesn't imply that some socialization is "better" or more "natural" than the other. Though I guess you can draw inspiration from the animal kingdom if you must insist on being "natural" - before the duel and the bone club, there was always flinging feces at each other.

Flinging feces takes a lot more cunning than you'd think.

Somebody has been watching Fight Club. Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shinola we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off. -- Tyler Durden

Words... what honor is there in it? I'd rather beat him up or pin him against the wall twisting his arm until he submits, then buy him a beer afterwards. I've made many friends this way last few years. All this pacifism about non-violence and such, as men we should be allowed to compete physically. I have no respect for those "men" who cry to the courts about "assault" and "grievous bodily harm" over fights which are natural in society. "Civilisation" really sickens me at times. I even had my tooth punched out by the best striker I have ever fought - I hold no hate towards him. Even if I had to spend $3000 to get my teeth fixed I'd rather my money be spent on this then spending on the current court cases that I have spend money due to these pathetic squids who cry and get away with it. It's pathetic! Your Mongolian roots are showing here Subutai...... this is *precisely* the view that most Mongolians/nomads have (as well as rural russians/canadians). ie. Fight for the most spurious reason (e.g., he looked at me funny) and share a drink over it when it's done. Fighting is just a motor/instinctive response no different than taking a dump. My friend and I (she's half Mongolian from Hungary) were recently in Ulaanbaatar and we were caught up in culture shock after being the only ones standing on the sidelines when bar fights magically occurred at every single club we went to. The first few times we were like WTF, but we've now come to an agreement than at the next fight we encounter, I'm going to fight a girl (so I can win).... and if the guy looks too tough, she'll hold me back and beg me not to hurt him. I love your people!

^ Watch out with the holding you back thing. I held one of my buddies back from a fight, because he was on probation, and the other guy clocked him.

I love your people! Heh thanks There's also a very strange feeling of respect after physical brawls. I respect people who stand up for themselves even if they were on the opposite side of the fence. Besides, once all the anger is gone through the fight, what we both end up needing is to share a nice cold beer and cheers! Unfortunately though, it doesn't always turn out like that. Though I have made friends, and even long-term ones, I have made enemies. Parasites really. In my opinion, the legal system is just simply OUTRAGEOUS!!!!

^ They're really paving the way for kids to grow up without being challenged these days. I remember in highschool they tried to slap us with a $500 ticket if we got in a fight, but they never enforced it.

What happened after the blonde sucker punched you? I've only punched a total of 2 in the face and 1 in the gut. It's not something I'm proud of but man did they deserve it for what they did to me, well excluding the boy who I socked in the belly. We were just kids then. Nah, but i did once get sucker punched by a tall blonde girl who was defending her 250 pound roided out boyfriend from me.. Admittedly i pushed him around and ended up smacking him in the face for purposefully crushing/pushing me and my friends at a concert. I just got so angry because it was getting to the point where i was finding it difficult to breathe and just blew up at him. Apparently this girl thought she needed to defend her boyfriend from me a 5'2 girl bahahaha bet that made him feel good. Not.

^People around me saw what happened and she ended up getting projectile vomitted out of the crowd, straight into the arms of a bouncer who kicked her and her roided out friends out of the club.
Were the people you punched in the face male or female?

^HAHAHAHAHA Rad!
One male, one female. I do feel bad about punching the female despite her having it coming; got into a little tussle with my sister.
As for the male, he definitely deserved it.
Did it even hurt at all when you got punched? I remember being punched in the face, got this huge rush of adrenaline and punched the mofo back!

No, it didnt hurt for some reason.. I wanted so badly to get her back but i was wary of her crazy huge dude friends who had veins popping out of their necks a la jean claude van damme. Yea, i've punched a dude too.. I'm not proud of it but i think he deserved it too. In that particular situation it was appropriate and he admits that he deserved it. Its such a double standard, that girls get to punch a guy if he deserves it but if a guy ever dared lay a hand on a girl he gets blacklisted as a bastard brute who belongs in a zoo. Makes me feel a little ashamed, but hey at least now i know i can land a decent punch .

There's been 45 post so far, but only 7 people have cast a vote!!! Is everyone too afraid to admit they are meatheads (Subs aside, and Jen who is in denial...and Stray who can knock girls out with his tongue. Does that work for guys too, Stray?).

What is the poll actually asking? Like, if a guy tried to hit on my girl would I fight him?
