It's not that easy to quit smoking for many people. Only thing I have against smokers even if I am a smoker myself is that sometimes they hold their cig too close to a baby. They should at least move away like I do, minimise exposure.
Still, as a father I should quit completely, not just sneak off. Quitline doesn't help with my issues, and I'm paranoid because the last time I voiced myself over the phone I was arrested for being a possible "terrorist" based on why I need the stress relief. I laughed my ass off all the while in the mental hospital but it was still a waste of my time.
I'm thinking of cold/flu tablets, hell people make Ice out of it. But nah, I don't know, maybe learn Yoga and meditate. A memory wipe would be nice too!

What about non-babies? One thing I've noticed about getting older is that people stop caring about you. (the way they used to, anyway)

Heh, if they ask me to smoke elsewhere I always respect their wishes. I don't hold grudges over this, nor do I consider this rude, I know smoking is bad, and it's my bad trait. To be honest, my wife doesn't keven now I still smoke LOL! Maybe she does (she is not as stupid as I like to believe - in fact, sometimes her intelligence scares me), but she is glad that I don't smoke around her and our daughter.
Stress relief though, that's a million dollar question. Hey hey guess what? I'm working in... 10 hrs. Haha! I've purchased a punching bag but where I live I have no idea where to hang it. I was planning on fixing it up on the padio but the freakin' bullcr-p wood almost split. Bah!

nope, i don't smoke. sometimes drunk i get an urge to smoke, and i take a drag and realise i really don't like the taste of it.
one of my best friends smokes, one of the few of my friends who does, and no matter what - without fail, i always end up being in the direction of her smoke. we are constantly re-arranging our positions so i can get out of it.
i've dated a few guys who did smoke, and most were considerate enough not to smoke all that much around me. but, i did find the lingering cigarette smell kinda hot.

Smoke, Smoked off and on for a lot of years, didn't start smoking regularly til end of Middle School beginning of High School. Basically everyone in Korea smokes, I think all my friends do and I can smoke in bars restaurants anywhere. If I were hanging out with people that don't smoke or don't like the smell of smoke, I won't smoke around them. But if I'm in a public place and someone makes a comment at me, I'm not moving for them. If they don't like it they can go away. It's funny how most people who've ever said anything about smoking tend to be ridiculously fat.

Cigarettes is an amazing stress reliever. Others proposed I hit the gym instead of smoking, but after a workout... I need me a cig. Go figure.

I've only smoked a couple of times in highschool, usually at parties. It was something to do and they weren't my fags, so I just thought what the hell. I wouldn't like to smoke regularly though, that would be a pain.

Tried it a few times, never took to it, although I occasionally like a whiff of second hand smoke. Weird, I know.

But if I'm in a public place and someone makes a comment at me, I'm not moving for them. If they don't like it they can go away. This part of your post seems to be a contradiction. Do you agree/disagree? Or did you want to explain further? How could you know if someone doesn't like the smell of cigarettes? Wouldn't a comment need to be made in the first place, or is the manner of the comment more important (rude vs polite)? Or were you specifically writing about friends as opposed to strangers? It's funny how most people who've ever said anything about smoking tend to be ridiculously fat. Whilst I see what you're getting at (regarding the unhealthy nature of the act), the underlying principle is different in that an unhealthy diet and/or lack of exercise doesn't immediately impede those surrounding the overweight person in question, where as this is not the case with a smoker.

Man I could sure go for a cigarette right about now.
I also don't get the poll - why don't cigars count? I always make sure I inhale a small quantity of cigar smoke too so that if my lungs do get cancer it will be from the good stuff and not from some pall malls or Peter Jacksons (the generic Canadian cigarette, probably not named after the director of my favorite movies). And who the hell uses snuff anymore?
But it's a terrible habit. I really worry for my brother who is a half a pack a day smoker - I really don't want to donate a lung.
