There's no doubt cigarettes greatly your increase chance of a premature death. But only probabilistically - the oldest confirmed human being ever, Jeanne Calment, quit smoking when she was 117 years old (and lived to 122). If you are lucky enough to have genes like that you can probably do anything and live a long time.

I chew/dip/snus whatever you want to call it. It's a nasty habit, but it keeps me awake and allows me to concentrate when I'm studying. Started it a little bit back in college when my lacrosse buddies introduced me to it. Since it seems like everyone either smokes or dips in the military, I tend to do it more often.

I also don't get the poll - why don't cigars count? I always make sure I inhale a small quantity of cigar smoke too so that if my lungs do get cancer it will be from the good stuff and not from some pall malls or Peter Jacksons (the generic Canadian cigarette, probably not named after the director of my favorite movies). And who the hell uses snuff anymore?. Cigars are usually used on occasion, and even though they contain the amount of tobacco equal to maybe 10 cigs, most people don't smoke them regularly enough to equal the bodily distress of cigarettes. Maybe a few very very bold and persistent folks do, but that wasn't their original intent. I keep a vile of snuff with me at all times so that in case I am in a place for a long time in which I can't smoke cigarettes (i.e. a weekend at my parent's house), I can still supply myself with tobacco and nicotine. Not as great as cigs, but it gives you your daily fix...just don't sneeze.

I rotate between skoal citrus blend, apple blend and peach long cut.

don't want to watch the video, does that child really smoke? smoked since i was 13.quit about a month ago and am going to try to make it stick this time.to be perfectly honest i LOVE smoking but it's just not worth the risk and i really don't want to enter my 30s as a smoker.chewing never appealed because i hate the taste,i love the feel of inhaling smoke.there've been two year periods where i quit but the desire never went away.i'm hoping that after i pass previous records i'll just magically never want one again.
