I'm just curious about everyone else since every time I go to a stylist..they say "whao you have lots of hair". Yeah I know...my hair is very dense lol. And then some people compliment me on how straight my hair is. So I guess that is an Asian trait. I'm guessing I have something in between. But my hair is naturally a dark brown. My sister on the other hand..has naturally curly hair, but her hair is a lighter brown. Asian hair supposedly grows the fastest out of any race and I guess that is true. I used to think my hair takes forever to grow after I cut it. I used to have hair up to my butt, since my mom wanted me to become a shampoo model lawl. But one day I just cut it since I was fed up with looking the same every year. She got mad but oh wellz. Since then..its taking a while to grow. But it actually grows fast if you look REALLY closely, but that may be the vitamins I'm taking as well. I'm thinking about thinning out my hair since it's so damn thick. I can't do much with it. I can't even tie a nice ponytail cause I have so much hair! Ahhhhhh it goes all bumpy on me! =( Seriously, time for a hair cut.

i have super thick, wavy dark brown hair. i've had it chemically straightened and waved for many years, so that probably help the state that its in. i've now decided to just let it be and embrace the thick waviness.
when i went to the hairdressers in the UK, they said my hair was very asian. when i'm at the hair dressers in asia, they tell me how non-asian my hair is. I think my hair is more on the non-asian side. the hair dresser always want to thin it out and i did (huge piles of hair everytime i got it cut) before but it just ends up with random flicks when the layers are too short, so i've pretty much told them not to thin it out now too and instead give the stylist arm ache when he has to dry my hair!

I want to layer out my hair now and thin it out. But then I'm afraid it will make my face look bigger if my hair is thinner. Lol. I think I have a big noggin and some people say that bigger hair makes your face/head look smaller. I dunno. It is just pretty boring right now as I haven't cut it since last November. I also have a wide/prominent forehead. It was worse when I was a youngster, but the bangs helped to hide that as a kid. People gave me funny looks when I got rid of the bangs. Alien. But it isn't as prominent now since my other features got more defined as I got older. But STILL wide. So any suggestions for a big heart shaped face? xD

Asian hair supposedly grows the fastest out of any race and I guess that is true. I don't think so. It appears to grow faster as it tends to be straighter and coarser. Sub-saharan African hair grows in tight coils, and it appears that it grows slowly, but if the hair is wet or relaxed, you can see how much longer it is. Fine wavy European hair does not grow out straight either and appears limp. You can notice the difference between wet and dry hair. Please don't do this. Later on, you will be thankful for the thicker hair (once it begins to thin naturally).

Does that seriously harm the hair? I mean, its not chemicals or anything and the hair doesss grow back. hmmm =3

^ I think jefe means that you should embrace having thick hair while you still have it, since maybe later in life it will become thinner than it is today? ^^
I think that for thick hair it's nice to cut it in layers, like my mom does to my EA niece ;D
I also have the big forehead/heart shape face, and is also a little confused about which hairstyle would compliment my face... well, since last christmas I've had bangs (which my mom made by "accident"), and I like it, even though people think I'm 15 yrs old, lol... lately my hair has been lacking volume, don't know what could be the reason...

I tried to get it into a pony tail today but it looked hideous..all bumpy. Combed for ages and it still looks the same. So I was like screw it and I let go. Lol my hair looked like POOF...like an explosion when I let go of it. Yes..I have that much hair. Gah... I want to go for bangs again, but I dunno if it will look right on me anymore. You know as a kid, you don't really care about your hair and no one else really cares about your hair and how it matches your face. Yada yada yada. Since for some reason kids are mostly cute, naturally. But as you get older, you have to at least give some effort to look good. I want my hair to match my face lol. I love how models and celebs look with bangs, but I don't know if it will look good for MY face.

Helen, apparently you and I share the same head. Deepest condolences to the skinny armed stylists in our wake.

my hair texture is a blend of my genetic heritages.my white side (and the Chinese on the Samoan side) is pin straight, and my mom's hair is on the thin side.My dad's hair kind of reflects his own mixedness,it's curly, but nowhere near as curly as if he were pure samoan (my full-blood Samoan cousins have hair that's almost african-american in texture.)my own hair is pretty thick and wavy on the verge of being curly, but not in an attractive way.

I've got black Asian hair. Wouldn't have it any other way. A poll on this might be interesting.

In my dormatory we share a kitchen, and when I went into the kitchen once with wet hair, my african neighbor (female) said: "I really like your hair! Is it a hair weave?" ;D

btw, has anyone else gotten the comment from people: "Why is your hair so dark when you're mixed?" (how to respond to that question? lol...)

Even fully white people don't ALL have light hair. And even if one of your parents happen to have light hair, that doesn't mean you will get light hair. Light hair is rarer than dark haired Eurasians since the "dark" or "Asian" genes tend to dominate. I have never seen a blonde 50/50 eurasian before that is grown up. My little cousin has light brown hair but it may darken as she gets older. =) Correct me if im wrong.
