NK will not start a war. They will not gain anything from it. It's a good analysis but the regime is certainly drawing to an end, in despair God knows KJI could do. In less than 50 years time the US will be rivaled by China, Brazil or Turkey as the strongest army in the world, the anticipated "errorist Greater Arabia" is never going to happen. Rivality breeds war. For the optimistic here, remember that a "mere" assassination in Bosnia triggered the first world conflict, the rival European powers using it as an excuse to start war. As nationalism before it civilizationism could form the basis of a future war.

People who disagree with Huntington will definitely not agree with my opinion either nevertheless because of globalization, I think regionalism (similar to Cold War but at a lower geographic scale) may be the next political ideology motivating first economic/cultural competition and then military conflicts.
We're already witnessing increasingly dependent structures: NAFTA, EU, Arab league and various Asian entities, most of them having a strong impact on international relations, much more than traditional actors such as international organizations or individual Nation-States, think agricultural import bans sanctions, peace arbitration, examples of plethoric existing measures to force a particular country to negotiate or change his laws or policies!
