So recently on the local news there was a case of a mother who killed her children and tried to commit suicide. The father was from here (Canada) and the mother was from Australia. Apparently they had divorced and the mother wanted to go with the kids back to Australia but the courts had prevented this.
Makes me think of that kid from new jersey whose mother took him back to brazil then died and there was the custody battle between her family and the father...
or the japanese woman who took her children to japan without the american fathers knowledge....
Overall I thought this was an interesting subject since more and more of us are living outside our home countries and we'll see more and more of this in the future most likely.

I can relate because my mother always suspected my father of plotting to kidnap us and bring us to China one day. Concerning your story, thank god Canadian courts love to cockblock foreign nationals but that's quite dramatic for the mother if she won't be granted custody over her kids.

My racist grandmother always tried to convince my mother that my Chinese father would kill and eat his own children if she left us alone with him.
