Are we more likely to date people with similar features? Ever dated someone who looked like one of your parent or even yourself?
Although their personalities are very different my girlfriend definitely shares some facial features with my mom, not too apparent but still is fairly noticeable. That said my first crush was a Vietnamese girl but I haven't met ever since elementary school, to my surprise I saw her on tv during the Torino World Cup as she is part of the Canadian speed skating team. I think looks definitely play a role conscious or not but to what extent I can't say.

In retrospective dating an EA was a little weird because I seldom was involved with people looking like me outside my family, let alone dating them. I guess my narcissism made me fall for the wrong persons.

Dating an EA girl was weird because you've never been involved with someone who looks like you...so you're saying we all look the same. Racist.

^Learn to read: In retrospective dating an EA was a little weird because I seldom was involved with people looking like me outside my family, let alone dating them. I guess my narcissism made me fall for the wrong persons. He did not say that dating this specific girl was weird because she just happened to look like him. He said that dating an EA was weird because she looked like him. And went on to bring up his family. Which seems to speak to the idea that he felt like he looked like he was related to her just because they were of similar racial background. He leaps straight from her being EA to thinking people will assume that of course they look the same so he can just proceed from there. Racist, racist, racist. If he was going to say what he said without sounding like a douche, then he would have said "I once dated a girl who looked a lot like me, that was weird for me"...her being EA would not have come up, or else he would have only mentioned it in passing instead of making it the focus of his sentence, which very obviously leads to the implication that EAs look the same. But then if you knew how to read between lines you'd already know that. Ganbare clearly has race issues. This thread had no real need to have anything to do with race. I've seen many people of absolutely different racial backgrounds that share similar features. And then there are people of the same racial background who look nothing alike. His immediate mention of people's racial backgrounds as though that is essential to what he is saying, in itself, is racist. Leaping straight from the mention of an "EA girl" to "it was weird cause we looked the same, like family" shows very clearly how he thinks, because he didn't say "this or that was similar, that's how we looked alike" all he mentioned was the similar racial background. As if that in itself is explanation enough. BECAUSE HE THINKS WE ALL LOOK THE SAME. ;D But then, your "experience" with one EA girl who you thought looked like a cousin leading you to avoid all EAs when it comes to dating rather speaks to you being an idiot too, so who am I talking to anyway? I mean, damn, I'm all for people having their preferences, but that's gotta be one of the dumbest reasons to have a preference against people of your own racial background that I've ever heard.

never dated someone that looks like my parents or me. I'm not interested in english or vietnamese girls either. I guess I inherited a taste for the exotic.
