Hey, I am nearing completion of watching the complete Stargate series now (SG1 done, Alantis almost done, will start Universe soon) as well as the movies, but I am looking for another Si-fi series to transition into. Does anybody have suggestions? So far the only ones that I can think of: Star Trek (I have already watched, and don't really feel like watching again.) Babylon 5 (Ok, but not the most appealing) Battlestar Galactica - seems the best choice so far that I can think of. I think I am looking for something similar to stargate - something with humour, action and adventure set in space! I don't mind if its Anime either as long as the series is long enough

Stargate Atlantis had me hooked for weeks, I was watching multiple episodes online daily. I don't think any show can complete to be honest lol.

Firefly, it was a show that got cancelled, then the fans went rabid so they turned it into a movie called Serenity. Both the show and the movie rock. Check them out.

Firefly was my favorite sci-fi show, great space cowboy stuff. I found it channel surfing, perfect timing for the start. I saw the opening theme, thought, "What is this?" kept watching and thought, "What the hell is this?! This is awesome!"

Firefly was one of those shows that was so entertaining, I'd rather not have watched it in the first place than have it end like it did. Too many questions unanswered.
A few years back there was an all-day Firefly marathon on the Sci Fi channel, got in near the beginning and I was hooked.

I really enjoyed Battlestar Galactica, saw all of the rebooted series but none of the old-school originals (and I haven't seen the new spinoff Caprica yet). I think it has some of the best actors and writing in the history of sci-fi - what it's missing is the ability to have crazy scenarios, which made some of the Star Trek episodes so great, because there is a lot of continuity and development of particular character and story arcs.
But the recurring themes - faith in an age of science, the line between man and machine, the tradeoff between security vs. freedom, how much you sacrifice to maintain the survival of humanity - are just epic and beautifully developed over many seasons.

Just finished Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Another show that was really hitting its stride just when it got cancelled. Probably still worth it even though it ends on a cliffhanger. I think I'll watch Firefly next since it's on netflix on demand, even though it also ends a bit prematurely. At least they had a movie to sort of rap things up.
