^Hmmmm...to be honest, no. My standards just consist of being some kind of literate. I don't care if they have a job so long as they have a book collection. Plus, they were never around long enough to proceed to "move in and leech off of me" stage. It's always the kind of thing where we know it's not going to last, but hey we weren't planning to work on it in the first place.
However, from an outsiders perspective (i.e. my parents' perspective), I could see how they'd be considered "losers".

druggie, squatter, alcoholic. a guy who is unattractive, rude, cheap, broke, unambitious, lazy, chauvinistic, dirty, and socially awkward. Combine these two definitions of loser and you have my last serious ex. I guess I am into losers...but not exclusively.

or he is an abusive jerk who has no care for peoples feelings I've never dated the unattractive, rude, underachiever type loser. But I have dated two who are like what Lara described. In fact, I've yet to meet someone who actually cares about my feelings. The current one seems to, kind of, but usually after he realized that he pissed me off by being inconsiderate and insensitive. Edit: Off topic... I'm not sure why but I get shafted with every relationship. I put in more work than he does, and end up having to break up with him while he's literally upset out of his mind and heartbroken that I decided not to be put up with his ass. I think I will learn to be a bitch from now on. Apparently being myself and kind and caring is only good enough to get me a dashing and intelligent stud that girls drool over, but not enough to get one that's cares about me enough.

The hard thing is to not think that it is you. Well it is you on some level I mean you are always in control of who you let in your life..but still so easy to get swept up in it all cuz you are alone.
