Dear New Member,
There are lots of great people here and if you get to know some you can make some good friends. There are great discussions here that can help you deal with being Eurasian or simple things like what to eat for lunch. Members often meet up with each other in their home towns and when traveling internationally. We have a really unique network of friendly people.
However there are also people on here who's intentions are less admirable. As a new member just be careful. A little sceptisism never hurts. Something that I always wonder is "what a non-Eurasian or *non*parent of Eurasian is doing here. Why join our forum?" It might seem discriminatory but I think I have every right to be suspicious. Don't give out your personal information unless you feel comfortable doing so. If you are hot you'll probably get a lot of attention, but remember to be careful.
Just a note about how this place is regulated. Although this is an online community where we are all equal, only the moderators really have power to remove someone from the forum. There are sometimes members who most people would rather not have present but since the individuals have not broken any rules they cannot be removed.
I don't like to sound like a worry wort but I felt it was needed. All that said welcome to Eurasiannation. I hope you get as much out of this community as I have.
Sincerely
Phil

agreed.... he's also got right about the creeps on the board.... it's a shame many of the "grown men" on the board can't behave as such - but the same could be said of real life.... in other words, girls, don't do anything you wouldn't do offline (e.g. give out personal info to strangers, etc)....and if they're hitting on you (speaking generally, of course), they're probably trying to hit on other girls too....just like in real life! have fun but play safe! peace

Rules and Regulations for EurasianNation Forums The purpose of the EurasianNation Forums is to provide a place where people with an interest in Eurasian or other multiracial/ interracial/ transracial issues can connect, discuss, and share their ideas in a positive way. *nods I honestly dont see why ur opposing non-eurasian. tbh I do find your post a bit creepy. (thus the shivering) your post implies the idea that i should assume that most non-eurosian ppl here are stalking me and wish me harm. Some of the discussion here are concerning themselves too..it would be fun to know their opinions. Frankly speaking, we need an agent to balance us b4 we get too full of ourselves.

I can understand someone's angst of a non-EA joining the forum but why the suspicion over a EA parent. Many monoracial parents are clueless as to what their kids are going through. They think their kid is either only one race or lives in a multicultural utopia.
I wish my parents had a forum like this so that they could read about what we go through. It's also a good place for those dating/married to a EA or someone who has EA friends.
I just don't understand when someone wants a place exclusive based on race. Imagine if whites told me to leave because I wasn't white enough or if Asians did the same because I wasn't Asian enought. It puzzles me that (for many of us) our lives are filled with moments not being "enough" but we go around wanting to be an exclusive group.
Furthermore, we perpetuate the myth that we are so HOT. OMG EAN is going to be filled with fetishists because we are so attractive. Whatever. We EAs are not hotter or more attractive than other races. I've seen UGLY EAs. I'm sure they were nice people but yes, EAs can be physically ugly too.
I hate to say it but I've seen whites, Asians, blacks and Latinos a million times hotter than some of the EAs I've seen. Of course many EAs are attractive but get real, we're not "ALL THAT."

Let's table the (valid) warning for the moment and talk about who belongs on this forum. First of all, the directorate of this forum needs a better mission statement. It's way too general for site called EurasianNation. In fact, I would say that this board is not a forum about "Eurasian" issues, in general. Based on what is discussed on this forum, I think that it is more specific than that. I'll explain.
After giving it some thought, I now realize that neither I nor the people in the particular minority group of which I am a member have any business being on this forum necessarily. Technically, we're Eurasian, but we don't fit in here. It's clear to me that this forum is a place to discuss issues pertaining to people of mixed European and Asian ancestry living in places where they are marginalized and/or struggling to reconcile their ethnic "duality." I cannot relate to this experience at all, as my native, mainstream culture is a genuine mestizo (Eurasian) culture -- there simply is no real cultural divide for us to bridge other than those found in just about any other society that are irrespective of race (socio-economic status, etc.). More importantly, I just don't think that there is anything that we could learn from each others' experiences, as disparate as they are. We might as well be from different universes.
Looking back, it is pretty absurd that I spent any amount of time here at all.
You win.
Adéu.

But even though the "Eurasian" experience in the Phillipines will be different than Australia or HK, I believe it is this difference that make these forums beneficial. Your contributions have always been thoughtful and intriguing.

An EA can also turn out to be a stalker, just as a non-EA.

I only posted that am suspicious of non EA's as an example. I am not advising anyone to do the same. In fact being cautious with everyone is the best practice at first.
If you feel I'm being discriminatory or streotypical than so be it. 'worst comes to worst my people comes first'

If you feel I'm being discriminatory or streotypical than so be it. 'worst comes to worst my people comes first' At the best of times or worst of times, I prefer to make judgments of people based on their character, not based on their ethnicity, race, or whether they're EA or not. Thus, "my people" to me represents the whole of humanity. I choose not to make any distinctions. I hope, sometimes foolishly, that people would look beyond the external.
