'Chinky eyes' aka the epicanthus is present on me, but i think having double eyelid is appropriate for facial flatness and having wide, open mono-eyelids for somebody with a very flattened facial features just doesn't seem right. Deep-set eyes and mono-eyelids completement each other the best.

I have double lids....I was in France and this girl asked me.."Are you Chinese or Japanese", and I'm like Chinese (i'm 1/2 Chinese) and she's like, "Then why aren't your eyes like this...." and she pulled her eyes apart to slant them.....that was funny stuff..I was in a really rural town and my host family had never met a mixed Asian/white before. ..everyone was really nice to me there (the countryside!) considering a lot of Asian people I know said they faced a lot of racism...I guess it's cause my skin is light or something

my bad...I got the mono-and double-eyelid thing the wrong way. mono='chinky' eyes and double= (for the lack of a better term) 'non-chinky eyes' (not sound racist or anything).

I have a double eyelid which will turn into a mono eyelid. My right eye is a little more prone to being a mono eyelid than my left eye.

^ UGH SAME! My right eye as well...it's so weird how some days, it'll be double when I wake up, others it will be single, some days, one will be single other double, then switch...
I've observed this from how sleep impacts it: When I get 8-9+ hours of sleep, it'll usually be double, but when I get <6 hours of sleep, it'll be double as well, in a sleepy-swollen-way, but the next day it'll be single from me being tired from the previous night. If I wake up and it's single, but sometimes late at night when I'm rubbing my eyes and all my face lotion gets in it, it'll be double for the next day. If I cry, it'll be double after being swollen from tears, but it'll stay double for a good amount of time.
I HATE when it's uneven, it screws up my face imo....

I'd like to say again, I think it's weird that some Asian people trip out and get surgery over such a thing. I have double eyelids, but it doesn't magically change me into looking more "white" - nor should matter if I did.

Double, but depending on so many different things like amount of sleep, energy, different facial expressions, different angles, (alcohol) and I don't know what else, they tend to "hide" and look more "monoish"...
I've noticed on many (and myself) that if they have uneven eyes, most of the time it's their right eye that is a little more slanted and "monoish" than the other one. Is it true that it's often the right eye? I have a cousin who has double on the left and mono on the right, and his little son has the same! ;D
I don't think Asians with double eyelids necessarily have less "Asian-looking" or more "European-looking" eyes... It mostly depends on the shape of the eyes itself, no?

^ same with my dad and one of my bothers of their right eye. Just like your cousin and his son. I guess its genetics? I wonder if this case is more common in asia

That is what I observed while I was in Asia this summer... It was kind of funny that most of the time it was the right eye (I mean, why is that??) ;D
I haven't really noticed yet if some Europeans have uneven eyes...
