This sort of thing happens just as much with brown skinned indians as well. The pictures posted in the original thread ALL have fathers who look like average indians (brown skinned). Indians have alot of caucasian blood in them thats why they come under the sub race category "caucasoid". For example, these two people below have normal brown skinned indian fathers... <-Daniel chopra (ive actually met Daniel Chopra and his father and he is one of the most indian looking people you will ever see, he's also a nice guy )

www.eden.rutgers.edu/~rahulpat/fmi2004/jyotimissearth2004.jpgThis girl's beautiful, she looks very Caucasian. My spin is that Indians exhibit Aryan features and since they are offspring of the true Aryan Invaders and the native population ..Dravidian and many others that the Aryan invaders left an overwhelming genetic mark on the population. Indians are very dark for the most part but that is also because of intermixing, other invasions and the environment. Many of them look Middle Eastern the more Whiter Caucasian variety to 100% White. But it's the luck of the draw of course. Some pics of Dravidians like Volgoth mentioned: Modern Dravidian girl. Interesting article: www.cwo.com/~lucumi/india2.html

The thing about these people is that they do not look like typical indians. I seriosuly doubt these people could produce caucasian looking children like the previous photographs. In my experience this represents a typical indian family (not light skinned but also not dark skinned)

^they look almost like people from Middle East . But most of the time it is easy to tell Indians from Mediterraneans.

Good link this site I think may explain Dravidians, Nagas and Rakasa races that the Aryans came in contact with a more than a couple of thousand years back. And also it should be noted that the modern dialect in Southern India is still pretty much Dravidian based but that not the National Language which is Hindi and Indo-European.

Isnt there a bit of an enmity between North and South Indians? I.e. Aryans vs Dravids? Just in my personal experience the northern Indians Ive met have usually been light skinned, upper caste, speak excellent English and are usually the most westernised. The southern Indians Ive met are usually the complete opposite. Sorry heres a link I found may be interesting reading for some people: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dravidian_race

Whatever they are, overwhelming majority (>90%) of East Indians are NOT mongoloids, for sure, nor do they consider themselves to be.

I agree. Ive heard in very north India and Pakistan you see strange things like people with blond/red hair and blue/green eyes. So its not surprising if someone Indian had this in their bloodline their children would look more Caucasian. I can testify to this. I've SEEN recent migrants from India and Pakistan in Malaysia who fit your description. My friend even married one.

This actress resembles Mani. ;D Well I'm flattered I'm actually part-Indian myself...although the percentages are very unsure cos my Grand mother was Anglo-Indian but she wasn't 50-50...maybe 1/4 English 3/4 Indian. So I'm somewhere between 1/4 -1/8th Indian. My father looks Mediterranean.

The thing about these people is that they do not look like typical indians. I seriosuly doubt these people could produce caucasian looking children like the previous photographs. In my experience this represents a typical indian family (not light skinned but also not dark skinned) but they have greenish eyes..... when i went to delhi/varanassi a few months ago for a holiday, most of the people i saw didn't look like that. they were darker and had brown eyes. although quite often i did see men who i thought were european, but turned out to be indian on closer inspection. also, (to me) it seems that the indians on tv/ in movies , aren't representative (looks wise) of the general population. sort of like in asia... they defninently look whiter in the media.
