People here (Spain) think I´m central American (Columbian and Venezuelan mostly). I´ve also got Mulatta too I think it might be the curly hair cos people tend to think Asians and Asian mixes have poker straight hair. People on EAN have called me a variety of things, Filipina once, I got compared to an Indian actress and the similarity was kinda freaky and I´ve got "latina" too. I THINK I look like a weird Asian lol I think race perspection is relative to who and where the opinion is given. I don´t give a sh*t about what race I look like. Well, manni....it really is too hard to tell with you wearing the veil and all.... As for me....asian 100% Funny thing is all the other asian people know I am FIlipino but Filipinos always think I'm Chinese.

I think I look like me.
Although in all honesty, I have had both.
But more often than not, I have had that I look more white. I tend to get "you look slightly oriental" rather than "you look slightly white" and "you can't be half chinese...a quarter?" rather than "you can;t be half white". but I also think its true that people tend to see in you what they don't have in themselves, and hence, you will look more asian to a white person (or a white-society raised asian) than an asian, and vice versa.

It's all about perception really. I agree Simmie. When I am out with my son, I have had someone comment on how white he looked. When I tell them I am not married to a white man they tell me how asian he looks. When I tell them I am married to a black man they suddenly can find all three..LOL.

Not to beat a dead horse but what's so bad about mistaking Ea's for just Asian. Nothing. There's nothing wrong with it. Do people think if they are viewed as just 100% asian they will be less special or less unique. Sorry to burst the bubble but everybody including our full blooded brothers and sisters are unique too. Just being Ea doesn't make us better at all. So keep mistaking me for a 100% Filipino. I don't mind. Maybe I am reading into things too much but it seems people are really trying hard, me included in my not so recent past, to try to find the caucasian part at the expense of embracing our asianness. I have a feeling that certain people are dying to be told they look more white. All my life I didn't look like my dad and hated it. Then out pops my son with my white father's chin (as Manni pointed out in another thread). It took me almost 30 years to actually feel as if I was Ea. I might not look it but the genes are in me as evidenced in my son. I don't need to look at myself in the mirror any longer to try and see if I am my father's daughter. I've always been. Just sad it took the birth of my son to finally realize it. I used to hate being told I look more ASian. Now I love it.

Hmmm I remember a religious education lesson when I was 14, and the reverand (if that's spelt right) was talking about different cultures. He said 'we have lots of different cultures here' (which there wasn't just me. He meant along the lines of redheads being anglosaxon, blonds, brunettes which in my opinion don't really make you cultured at all). Anyway, he was going through all the sorts of the different 'cultures' people in the class came from, viking, norweigian etc I'm guessing he was having a laugh.. then me? ''Spilt Blood.''

I can get away with blending in England but I stick out like a sore thumb in Japan.
I dunno I think I just look mixed, anyhow it doesn't greatly bother me.

most of the time it's either EA or latina. though i find that now that i've moved to arizona, where a prominently large number of the population is mexican/latino, that's the first thing people guess of my race/ethnicity around here. not having any trouble at all fitting in with the locals ;D

People have thought I was latino a few times, which I guess I am (1/4). People also come up to me and ask me stuff in spanish all the time, but that's probably more because I live in california
