I voted "not sure" Even though we see ourselves in the bathroom mirror every day I think it is really difficult to know how others see you. I'm always interested to know what people think. Like many of you, depending on who it is people can see me and think I am full Asian, full European or pretty much any random ethnicity you can think of

Some days i feel I look more asian and other days more white, or even sometimes I feel ehm just unique, like theres no similar etnicity as mine in the world Its a funny feeling.

I think I definitely look more western. Never has anybody asked me or guessed that I was half asian. Most think I'm like spanish or someone from some random european country. I wish I were more evenly mixed.

^Haha, got an admirer Telliecoin. Hmm, with countries like Singapore and Malaysia, I really don't understand how native Asians can distinguish straight away they are specifically from those countries as there are high numbers of Malays and Indians ie. Malaysia where the Chinese are not the majority.

Yeah, that would be the problem in west malaysia, whereas in east malaysia.. the majority would be Chinese and Bumiputera's (the ethnic people) but once you live here long enough you'll begin to get this subconcious talent for picking out who are the natives and whatnot..

Varies on situation... With Asians, most will assume im half-Viet or Filipino, and for the rest that initially think i am full asian, usually believe me after i tell them i am mixed. (but ironically i would be lying if i told them i was half-asian cause im technically not ) With Whites, 90% will assume im full east asian or if not Filipino ... Indonesian/Thai or even Hawaiian which is pretty ignorant in Australia. But i love saying 'aloha' so i dont care. The odd white has speculated me being "part wog" which means Italian/Greek for those unfamiliar with aussie slang. This is the only picture (ived used as a sig before) where white friends have actually said they think i look part-white.Being 5/8 Asian, 3/8 White, i'll generally be seen as more Asian by whites and mixed or asian by asians. It is nice when people tend to see me as human being though.

Your eyes have some european tendencies I guess.

I think my baby girl looks split down the middle though she varies according to how she is being looked at-profile or frontwise. My Filipino/Asian friends think she looks more like my hubby-particularly he skin complexion, however, my mom is rather light-E.Asian light (she's Filipino), so it could be from both my mom and husband, not just my husband. Yesterday, a family friend who is a feisty Spanish/French senior citizen who grew up in the S.West, she mentioned the baby loos more like me and my 3 year old son looks more like his dad. I said, "My baby girl looks just her brother did at 6 months of age, I have photos." She said, in that certain tone of voice (which I can't stand) "If you say so." The funny thing is when I brought my son over to her place when he was 6 months, her own son said to my husband, "He looks Filipino, he takes after your wife." So now almost 4 years later he looks like my husband. Eurasian and mestizo kids seem to go through alot of changes in appearances as they grow. Appearances her subject to the eyes of the beholder and their own opinions.

I mentioned before that my son looks more Filipino. Although his hair is starting to finally take on a wave! So the AFrican American is there. Subtly peeking through but there.
Looking white? No. My son won't get mistaken for that at all. Looking at him now I can't see that changing, I also have a hard time convincing people he is part black! Unless I tell people they can't see it. Only two people have noticed he's mixed, one a mixed woman herself(white and black and the other an African American woman engaged to a Cambodian whose son eerily looked alot like mine.)
Of course when he is with his father people can see Curtis in him. When he is with me. They can just see me. When my son is with the both of us, people claim to see both the black and asian and the one day when me, the hubby and Alex, his mom and my parents went out to eat the restaurant goers looking at this black, white, and asian family could see all of it in my son. Like THea mentioned above. It's perception.

I don't really know. Most whites think that I'm asian and most asians think I'm white. I get this often as well. And almost all blacks, just think I'm white. I also get confused for half Mexican at times but not often, though my sisters get that most of all. I don't really care either way but overall I think I look split down the middle. Hehe. I get that: most asians think Im "white" and most europeans think Im "white" or european at least (if not Norwegian). I dont know what black people think cause I dont know many, except for this afro american dancing teacher of mine said I look neopolitan, or whatever that meant?? I also noticed that people from chile (there are alot of them here) think that Im from the same country as them, hehe. Im sure that if I go to some foreign country (except africa or asia) people will think Im one of them, if they have dark hair/eyes. Typical....
