My mum just lost her 2 kids to theyr dad in some other city, and she was desperate for a daughter (she told me this).
My dad had just arrived from Vietnam and didnt have any family in this country.
After they had me they got married.... Culture shock for both I guess, lol. Divorced after 6 years.

... am I the only child of an WM/AF coupling replying in this thread?... Nope! My parents are the same (WM/AF), and also, divorced.

However, my parents were virtually doomed from the start as my Dad was/is a high-flying business man with a very busy schedule. He hates being unorganised and has a really short fuse for most things whereas my Mum is incredibly unorganised, scatter-brained and unemployed with an even shorter fuse. Both are completely arrogant and refuse to admit to being wrong = clash of the Titans.

My parents are AM/WF
It wasn't just the cultural difference.. I guess they were too different to begin with x___x
My mum is really easy going and bubbly kind of person and my dad is strict and too critical of most things.. My mum used to be a Buddhist, loves animals/books/nature, is vegan and my dad doesn't really read all that much, isn't spiritual nor does he like animals too much ohh and he always made my mum eat meat >___>
He just left me here in NZ.. and went back to Japan because it's nothing like Japan here

Though I see many AM/WF divorces here, keep in mind one thing in terms of WM/AF
Many AF like my mom are from Asia and have lack of educational/vocational ability to have the finances to raise children. Therefore this keeps them in many unhappy marriages. This is hte case with my mom and why she stayed with my dad.
for my parents differences, Ethnicity is the LEAST of the problems.

My parents got divorced when I was 10 (W/M between A/F). After that, all my stepmothers have been white, so when we go out together to restaurants the waiter asks us if my brother and I are adopted.

True! It's rude but some people have the urge to satisfy their damn 'curiosity' thing.

I don't think it is in you guys and gals place to judge your parents, for whatever they did, it was between them, not you. This is similar to when they got together and their parents disapprove their marriage with dogmatic/bigot thinking. What many of you display here is the same mentality, which shocks me for I thought you would have better understanding and exposure of what they would go through.
Whatever happen between the parents, it was something magical, something very personal, that made YOU. It is something that even interracial children who lives with them for all their lives, would never understand.

I am also curious as to why most of the children of interracial marriages would tends to favour their caucasian parent then the asian one?? It seems some even have very deep resentments towards them. (which is kinda funny because you are in a way, denying your own existance)

That said, children have their word to say when there's something about their parents - and conversely, cause there's an indefectible link between them.

I think we're the most qualified to judge, since most of us lived through our parents break-ups and saw as much as we could of it without actually being in their relationship. Not only did we see how our parents' actions affected each other, we had to live through the consequences as well, without having the power to change the situation.

Looks pretty even. I thought Asian men were supposed to be more abusive according to Amy Tampon?

I would say AF/WM my parents divorced. My uncle with his thai wife (yes my cousin is EA too!) And mom her thai friend divorced also. But I can't believe so many AM/WF, my dad said (and I also thought it was more this way) : A lot of white men with asian women are jerk, and hit their women. Mostly it's about poor women, men who couldn't get a white girlfriend went to poor asian countries to find a submissive gf. But happily my dad isn't like that I am raised by my dad and grandmother. My mother is far from the best mom. Ran away from us, good liar and used her skills a lot on me. She has another boyfriend now. She changes every 1-2 years...
But hey I do think background differs a lot. They were poor women.

my parents arent together (aw, wm). And I think this was to do with completely different cultural backgrounds. Interracial marriage will work out most when both races have been brought up in similar environments ie. when an asian woman is brought up in australia, and a white man is brought up in australia. They would have similar mentalities, and life experiences.
