I've gotten a Japanese straightening perm twice and I don't know if it was 100% worth it. It was nice though, while it lasted. I didn't have to brush my hair at all.
But I don't really brush it ever, which I guess you can see from my profile pic hahah. I'm so worthless

I've had the japanese straightening and japanese curling done.
the straightening took soooooooo bloody long. and it hurts if the irons touch your head when they are straigthening, so lots of hairdressers don't start from the root, plus you can end up with a really flat look too. i really loved it the first time i got it done -around 4 years ago. it was so soft, so silky, so manageable, so not my hair!! the several times after i had it done, the results werent as great, but still good. maybe my hair got too damaged or something..
finally, last summer, i got tired of straight hair, and the annoyance of having curly hair on top and straight down the rest of the length as it was growing out.. so i went for the curl.. i was pretty nervous when i got it down, thinking i might get stuck with an afro or something similar!!
but, the results are pretty good, and i like it.. the only problem is not being able to brush your hair.. it kinda matts the hair esp on the back, underneath areas. i'm slowly letting my hair grow out, it feels really damaged and hairdressers rob me blind with all the hot oil treatments my hair desperately needs due to all the chemical treatments i've had.. luckily, you cant really notice where the perm ends and where my natural wave/curl strarts now..

You know, my hair was pretty much str8 for the most part of my life
but nowadays, it's starting to curve a bit, especially in the side burns

my hair is curly. When I was little they were soft and wavy but now curl got stronger. they are kind of straight or very soft wave on the top but gets wavy and curly and frezzy. honestly hate it. on top of everything they are so thin and easy to get damaged. I can't even blow dry. cause I get split end. I can use hair iron only few times. I got brown hair like ash chest nut but light now I die copper light brown so they look less heavy with my curl. I used straight iron 3 times/week once and my hair got really damaged than ever! So I can't use them anymore.
I am thinking about geting extension. I am sick of updo.

HI, there, EurAsia it is a good idea if you can find a japanese hair salong to do straightening. it's called yuko system your hair will be straight but they cost a lot depends on how long your hair is $300-$500 and then your hair (roots) got longer you have to keep on doing it. they put some kind of stuff to make your hair shiny and silky. my friend spend $700 for that. She got nice hair like lucy liu. ^ Wow, don't think I could sit in the salon for that long.. lol How long does a ordinary straightening perm take?

yeah. my friend got pretty long hair and she wanted to do some special treatment so looks so straight and silky like beautiful asian hair. I guess where you got straighten stays straight. so you gotta keep on spending like $200-$300 bucks to keep on having perfect style. No thanks for me.

my neighbour had her hair japanese straightening perm straightemed ( she is indonesian and has quite wavy hair-realy nice I dunno why she want straight) and it was fine until it grew out-her hair at the roots was wavy and kind of put the rest of her hair on an angle. ;D

My hair is Mongolian straight like my mothers but is brown in colour. My father hair can look like the brush of a toilet brush if he does not comb it regular.

My hair is stick straight, very managable. I only brush it when I feel like it, because most of the time it looks better when I don't.

As a kid, it was wavy. Grew out of it but not quite? It's very thick now, but also really fine. Knot-crazy fine in the front and not so fine in the back. Actually, the back is really messed, it's a bit frizzy, like lots of 's's frizzy. But it's not noticeable if I keep it well. It's dark (both my parents are dark) but I have streaks in the front. My sister used to call me Pepe because of that.

Straight thick dark brown hair...Hard for the hairdressers to handle, hehe. My poor brother has an afro
