You have people debating about your ethnicity/looks right in front of you. This was a fairly recent exchange involving myself and two other people, a white woman and a Vietnamese/asian guy.
woman(asking me): are you Chinese?
me: nah I'm not.
woman: then what are you?
me: I'm Vietnamese, with some French.
guy: Wow, really? I wouldn't have guessed you were Asian at all.
woman(to the guy): Are you serious? You can't see how Asian she looks?
guy: No, she looks completely white to me.
woman: hmm, I guess she does have a Eurasian look to her.

Can definitely identify with that. Sometimes it's people I know well, sometimes relative strangers. Most recent one I remember. Me: Failed this or that thing and lost a couple hours time due to no fault of mine own. Went on to say how I didn't deserve to pass. Male coworker: He's always exercising, loves punishment, something something joke about me being a spy, looks like Jackie Chan. Female coworker 1: Jackie Chan's hot though Female coworker 2: More like Jet Li Female coworker 1: Yeah, more like Jet Li's, he's even hotter Female coworker 2: Yeah, definitely These conversations are awkward as hell, but I don't really mind them.

You put soy sauce in your pasta When I make a pasta dish I always add a couple of teaspoons of oyster sauce. It sounds gross but I like it, give it a go! I love oyster sauce. But my mom always says.."STOP EATING SO MUCH SOY SAUCE AND OYSTER SAUCE! OR YOU'LL GET DARK!" It's an Asian ideal to have light skin.

The technique for chopsticks and rice is to scoop it into your mouth, not try it pick it up. Although I heard picking up your bowl to your mouth is rude in Korea?

You have people debating about your ethnicity/looks right in front of you. This has never happened to me and if it had I would not have hesitated to immediatly walk out on such behavior, I dislike being objectified. Some people think they have the right to disrespect your privacy and forgo good manners.... I am seldomly asked about my background, they either assume I'm X race or simply don't care which saves me the trouble of explaining. You guys live in scary places, seriously.

^ I have had people debating my ethnicity / looks right in front of me a lot too. I have thousands of such conversations that I have had to endure.
but you cannot always walk out - indeed, if so, I would have to walk out of class, out of interviews, out of my workplace, out of having a drink with my friends, out of a boat into a raging river, out of an elevator . . . . . .
