in my experience, people that are 1/2 or 1/4 asian are considered mixes, whereas people that are 1/8 asian are regarded as just white or whatever their non-asian background may be. does only having 1/8 asian blood really make you less connected to your own family and less connected to your asian heritage? personally, i think of 1/8 asians as mixed. what do you guys think? Now I recognise you ganbat, you are 1/8 Buryat Mongol right? As you may already know (I've seen your pic before bro ), its evident in your features that you are mixed. Turanid genes seem to be quite strong until 1/16 percentages or more. So if you have the same heart, then no Mongol should treat you like an outsider. Lenin was mixed Kalmyk Mongol but the world sees him as Russian. But as much as they can choose to deny it many Mongols today are mixed, purebloods are the nomads.

I think Slavic people have more asian/or mongol ancestry than they believe they have, or more than western europeans at least. Mixed eurasians who are 1/4 asian or like 5/8 white + asian tend to look kind of slavic, or just western european.
I also heard that 1/3 of men in Russia descend from Djengis Khan, because of the Y chromosome or something. Maybe if you look at the directions in which people immigrated towards, you can see the tendencies. Russia is an eurasian continent with people predominantly of euro and asian heritage. And moving east and west is easier for people, because they live in the same country! So mixing btw whatever they are would be a result of that sooner or later.
I dont think one single person knows about her/his whole ethnic origins. Because usually one just knows about grandparents and maybe great grandparents. And in the end all humans are related to some degree ;D

Russian people don't have much Turanian ancestry as one might think. 1/3 of Russians may have Chingghis Khaan's Y Chromosome but it is very much diluted - my grandmother considers herself Tatar descendant, passed on for generations on her side of the family, but she looks complete Slavic. Due to much political and historical confusion she isn't sure about the present dominant theory that Tatars were Turkic, not Mongol. Russians in the past couldn't determine the difference as Turco-Mongols were too similar.
Still, I can spot a Slavic from an Anglo for instance - it's the rugged features compared to Western Europeans. In any case they are still white, calling themselves Mongol or even Eurasian will mean discrimination by the rest of wealthy Europe. The Swedish for example considered Russians "Mongoloid" and "Tatar lovers" and attempted to justify colonisation and expansion into Russian holdings.
Some Russians are proud to be Eurasians, and treat Turanians like brothers and sisters, likewise with the Tatars and other Turanians in the Federation treat Slavics as brothers and sisters - "We've lived together for a thousand years, we've fought together, bleed together, died together for the motherland".
Then there are those that reject these views and consider themselves part of the pureblood Aryan race. Neo-Nazi rose after the fall of the U.S.S.R. and the only thing they have to be proud about after that was that they were "White and European". Though active Neo-Nazis are very few, many present day Russians follow after this, especially dismissing the historical fact that the first Cossacks were Turanian.
For me, they act white, look more whitish, and follow after Europe - I wouldn't call them Eurasians anymore. My grandmother can believe all she wants but she still looks Russian, speaks Russian, follows Russian culture, and lived in Russia all her life.

Today I*ve seen 2 really cute little boys from central Asia (ps: @ sub, please correct me if I'm wrong about the geography ^^)
The mother looked Thai to me in the first degree, but something was different, couldn't really tell what. And the 2 little kids: they looked really half, like half-Jap/half Korean and something Euro. So cute, like anime-chars. Okay, and the language that they have spoken .........didn't sound Asian at all ........something similar to Russian but different. So I asked the mother: she is from Aserbaidschan and her husband is Turk ^^
