Its difficult to quantify a person I guess But I see some similarities between Asians and Russians and also Russians and Western Europeans. Also between Russians and Sami people. And Spaniards may have Arab heritage, but they just deny it probably.... They found some mummies in China that looked very Euro, but they were obviously mixed Euro/Asian/Indian (from DNA tests). Chinese ofcourse denied it in the beginning. And in the documentary they said: it was such a surprise, nobody would have known etc. For me it was kind of obvious from the beginning, but.... Why should it be insulting that people say one looks a little Asian? Whats so bad with the Asians? Primitive world? ;D

Some 1/2 eurasians and most 1/4 (asian) eurasians may look and act european. But theyre still Eurasians! Right?
We can call it what we like, most of this stuff is subjective and not really 100% true. I could just call myself whatever and people might believe me, or make myself believe Im something completely random.

Today I*ve seen 2 really cute little boys from central Asia (ps: @ sub, please correct me if I'm wrong about the geography ^^) The mother looked Thai to me in the first degree, but something was different, couldn't really tell what. And the 2 little kids: they looked really half, like half-Jap/half Korean and something Euro. So cute, like anime-chars. Okay, and the language that they have spoken .........didn't sound Asian at all ........something similar to Russian but different. So I asked the mother: she is from Aserbaidschan and her husband is Turk ^^ Modern Russian has a lot of influence from Ural-Altaic languages - which are Siberian/Central Asian languages. Educated Russians admit this fact as well as their own genetics which is also mixed with Turanian blood. BTW Aserbaidschan? You mean Azerbaijan? You can't expect the majority of Russians to admit their racial admixture, nor the Spaniards with their Arab/North African admixture as European racial culture still has the rather pathetic attitude "Pure Nordic white = Superior" I believe those are ancient steppe people, ancient Turanians - who developed both Europid and Asiatic racial traits through genetic drift with varying climates. Some of my people still have these mixed traits, but most are the nomads, ones in the cities then to be mixed. Many pureblooded Oirat Mongols still have light hair/light eyes yet Asiatic facial features. However even though I used to buy into the whole "It's because we're mixed" theory, scientifically even though genetical markers possess the trait of light hair/light eyes, genetic tests prove Oirats are still Mongols - and I don't believe anymore that Europids are the only ones with light traits. I used to think it's both - genetic drift and intermixing. But for the most case nope; as other closely related Turanians in Siberia, such as Tunguistic tribes also have such traits without any Europid contact at all. I always wanted to use my mix to try to persuade other Mongols to think "Don't be racist, you're all mixed like me" But scientifically, I can't prove it - genetics proved there are still pureblood Turanids out there surprisingly. You are dealing with: 1) Loss of Russian pride ever since the fall of the U.S.S.R. 2) Racial complex imposed by the Swedish Empire which justified their expansion condemning Russians as "Mongoloid" 3) Rise of Russian nationalism with the only reason "We should be proud because we are white and European" 4) Alienation from Western Europeans who condemn Russians as Asians and not pure whites worthy to be considered European. 5) Disbanded theory of the "Mongoloid" race is still in use as a form of scientific racism. I have yet to find myself any Asian that has E.T. legs, but Russians will follow after Europe regardless.

Yeah, the "we are better" attitude is common in insecure people. But I think everyone needs to feel accomplished from time to time, but sadly enough some do it at the cost of others being inferior.
I still dont quite understand why being Euro appears to be the "1st class" thing in the world??? Maybe one day I will ;D Or maybe my brain is too tired right now....

Long story of past historical insecurities imposed on North-European people especially during the Roman era. Let's just say we can't change this aspect of European culture - except for acknowledging the fact that there are those good folk who aren't your 'typical' racist Euros who should inspire us not to be racist back

Im 1/4th "Asian" (I dunno if u guys consider pinoy asian), and I dont look it at all. Plus Im black so if I go around acting as if Im mixed, alot of people will say Im self-hating The only time it comes up is if people see me with my dad, or they find out my last name. I think for black people, if you are mixed with something else u are automatically supposed to deny it and nobody has a problem with it. But if you are white and mixed with something, you HAVE to talk about it otherwise you are betraying the minority mixture. Y is that?

Sometimes looks can mask what you really are, and perhaps make you identify with that part more. But why care so much about what others think? Just be yourself! ;D Somehow I try to hang on to my Anglo-Vietnamese parts, but its like Im going against the wind or something

Yeah that's like me hanging on to my Ruskie side, people think I'm just Russified. So if I just deny my Slavic connection including my grandmother who lives 10000 miles away (she can't hear me ) everything ends up being fine. And when people think I'm not 'pure' enough for a Mongol on the other hand I just bring up what my grandmother said about her Tatar ancestry. Most of the time, I can get away with it

Mixed Mongols are either the Turks who migrated westward from Mongolia - some with their own identity issues since the invention of racialism in the West, especially Anatolian Turks or Kazakhs from time to time... Or Mongol descendants such as Tatars in Europe (Mixed Turanid/Europid genetics), Hazaras in Afghanistan (Mixed Turanid/Iranic/Arabic genetics), Ilkhan descendants in Iran (similar to Hazaras), and Moghul descendants in India/Nepal (Mixed Turanid/Dravidic/Aryan genetics).
Kalmyk and Buryat Mongols also have mixies - My grandfather was Kalmyk Mongol but my grandmother was Slavic for example (Kalmykia - Caucasus region near the caspian sea). But not all Kalmyks or Buryats have intermixed despite the fact we reside within the Russian Federation. Buryats generally have a higher ratio of intermixing however I've noticed (They reside north of Mongolia)
Some Mongols who still reside in Mongolia, are mixed with Slavics yes due to the closeness between the USSR and Mongolia in history, many past leaders had Russian wifes, and some government officials are also mixed. I used to believe all Mongols were mixed but that was quite false after some research. Intermixing exists but it's not to that grand a scale.
In Dzungaria (Northern East Turkistan in China), my grandfather's motherland (Kalmykia is the fatherland), and the ancestral home of my tribe - some have intermixed with Uyghur Turks, but majority still remain quite homogenous. Mainly the religion (Islam) that gives Oirat Mongols second thoughts about intermarriage.

I'm black and 1/4 Asian (along w/ some other stuff) too, and i would get the exact same thing if I told others about my admixture. I think it may be some kind of off shoot from the One Drop Rule days. Back then, it was the white people's rule for black people, but I guess it's been inforced so much that now we live by it. sad... I guess for mixed white people, others think that they are ashamed of their minority ancestry (which I know a lot just were nvr raised w/ the culture), and mentioning it would show that they aren't embarrassed of the minority ancestry. IDK, why the contrasts (standards for mixed black ppl and for mixed white ppl) still exists today, I guess it take a long time to get rid of certain mentalities, espacially if they are reinforced like these 2 are.

I can see some of the filipino in you! in relation to you feeling like your a self hating african american by bringing up your filipino roots, I kind of think of it based on how close you are with your filipino grandparent.... have they told you about their culture? That should give you some kind of a african american/filipino identity right? haha random u heard of one of the guys from blackeyed peas i think his name is apl de ap or something? anyway he's black and filipino too
