This place is for discussing videogames, all platforms. Yeah, I'll admit that I LOVE, LOVE videogames, and I own the PS2 and XBOX. And no, I'm no geek, ja. I know there's a few peeps here that play videogames as well...don't even hide. EAGuy, grindx, Sensei, Scott, Yongfook...Helen. ;D (and a few others). Anyway, for those who play games, list down your list favourites, how many games you own, favourite genre, etc. I have a huge list that could go on and on, and I don't even know where to start. I'm currently playing (or re-playing, since I'm done for the term and got time on my hands) Jade Empire on xbox, a roll-playing game that puts one in the role of a martial art student in a fictional world based on Chinese mythology, who has to journey the lands to find his master. And of course, there's lotsa bad guys and freaks to kill along the way. (at the store, the clerk said to a customer who was interested in the game, "based on the true story of Japanese culture". Fücking stupido, it's Chinese mythology). This Thread Is Dedicated To The Living Memory Of Yongfook.

I work for a game store. I have all the consoles available and am encouraged to play every game that comes into the store for product knowledge. I finished Jade Empire in a week, but I am totally hooked on the game. Who did you choose as your character? Furious Ming? That's who I chose, I'm using Lu the Prodigy at the moment. It is definitely a keeper, Jade Empire. >Sigh< Dawn Star and Silk Fox.... I'm looking forward to Dynasty Warriors 5 on PS2. I really love those games. Based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms novels. "Curse that meddlesome Zhuge Liang!!!"

@y2j Really...encouraged to play videogames, nice. If I could only convince my dad that it is my homework to watch movies, being a part-time film student. Instead, he calls me a liar and that I'm going to hell... Yeah, I chose Furious Ming, because he seemed cool. My fav fighting style is definately Leaping Tiger. But I thought that this game was way too easy though. I'm playing it again to be the bad guy and explore some of the martial arts styles that weren't available when I was goody-two-shoes.

Yeah, Ming was pretty badass, maybe I should have named him, Furious Jenming LOL.
I liked Thousand Cuts (my intial style the first time I played) and Legendary Strike (current style). Paralysing Palm was a really useful, albeit too powerful technique to use.
It is an extremely easy game, but it's got a lot of replay value and has a great story with likeable characters. I guess that's why I'm not sick of it yet.
What did you think of the Tho Fan dialect that they got some guy to make up. Reminded me of mandarin in a lot of respects.

My bf and his housemates are really into Halo 2. I even had to buy him an Xbox for christmas so he could play it. He's also into sports games - fifa, basketball, american football.
The only games I play are Sims - thinking about getting Urbz, not sure tho and Bomberman!! ;D
edit: lol.. how did my name come up - just cos I panicked about losing my Sims serial number!! haha

practically all my favorite videogames are/were relatively old-school, ones that were made and played in super NES. they were either puzzle games or streetfighter. tetris(all versions be it 1, 2, 3, and tetris attack), dr. mario, and all the streetfighter games. this one is prolly my most overused videogame as of yet, the tetris/dr. mario-in-one. i haven't dabble much with newer systems. the most with those was puzzle fighter and pocket fighter in playstation.

Bought Jade Empire a week before I had my finals. I did alright in the finals so it was all good. It's fun but way too short. They don't give you enough locations to explore and it's too linear. I feel they held back a lot so they could make a bigger, badder sequel because a lot of times in the game they mention other lands in the Jade Empire, the Mysterious East and the Glass Sea yet you never see these areas. Also, that Tho Fan language sounds like s***, not Mandarin. Mandarin is great sounding. Tho Fan sounds like some reversed fragments of German mixed with pig latin.

I'm sort of into games and recently got Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox and was damn close to throwing the controller at the tv the other day! Looking forward to the release of HalfLife 2 and GTA San Andreas.
On another note, are there any recommendations for fighting games for the xbox by any of you young gamers? I got the Mortal Kombat:Deception. However I have a major gripe though, & no doubt its to do with my age but I'm getting fed up trying to remember how to do the "dragon tail strike" ala XX,AA,->,->,B,B,B,A,AA etc, etc. Is there anything else out there without all that crap? How about the latest Soul Calibre? TIA

I have all the consoles except for Xbox, and NES and all the portables except for Gameboy Pocket, and DS. <3's to the PSP.
