I watched "Catch A Fire" last night which was pretty tense. Different type of story.
Afterwards there was Q&A with director Phillip Noyce.
But before then....when I got to the movie, there's an announcement and Tim f***in Shawshank Robbins comes on and joins Phillip Noyce. So I got to hear both of them talk about film making, the movie and acting...wow.
How f***ing cool is that!!!!

Anyone seen Children of Men? What a depressing and pointless film. I actually want to see that, it reminds me a lot of a comic book I've been reading. Funny though, if it's as depressing and pointless as you say, it seems an odd choice to release on Christmas day(in the US anyway).

Borat was OK and so was Babel. Though the Bed and Breakfast stay in Borat just made me laugh that my sides hurt.
Catch a fire was interesting .......what I thought was really interesting about the movie that the Afrikans language has a lot of guttaral sounds to it. Time to cut into that Bobotie!

Reminded me how much I hate Bostonian accents though. But Leo does pull off a good one.

I finally caught "Max" on IFC, a movie I've been meaning to watch for awhile. I give it 10/10. It was really really good. It was about Adolph Hitler while he was a struggling artist, the guy that played Adolph wasn't what I thought Adolph would be like, but great nonetheless. John Cusack played a Jewish art dealer who used to be an artist before WWI took his right arm. It was mostly fictional, but pretty believable despite some historical inaccuracies. All in all, really interesting and really well directed/acted/written.
