I mean just look at that, a sword wielding samurai girl costume. best. There is a comic character called Shi I believe who looks almost identical. I'd put up a pic but I'm via cellphone.

Did Miss USA get booed for falling or for representing her country? I suspect the latter. Gringos just aren't too popular outside their home, these days, it seems. "Miss USA Rachel Smith, who slipped and fell to the floor during the evening gown competition and was jeered by the Mexican audience during the interview phase, was the contest's fourth runner-up."www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/americas/05/29/miss.america.ap/index.htmlBeing that the event took place in Mexico, it was actually about Mexican angst over the US's attempts to stem the flow of illegal aliens by way of Mexico into America. In short, they're mad b/c we don't want to give millions of them amnesty for breaking the law and cutting in line ahead of people trying to do it the right way. Sadly, our government is full of crap and really doesn't want to deport them or secure the border, and they're going to one way or another give them amnesty or not do anything to solve the problem so that we continue to have it.

oh and I saw last year but missed this year, but in seeing the pics, yeah the samuraichick costume rules, but this year's Miss Japan is prettier than last's, who I recall feeling outraged when she didn't win, thinking she got slighted, but unsure of objectivity b/c of my fetish and all, but now I can't tell b/c the photos here of her are not too good, certainly less attractive than 2007's Miss Japan/Universe, but I also remember thinking that 2006 Miss PR/Universe who beat 2006 Miss J looked like the love child between Geraldo Rivera, Michael Jackson, and an Ewok

it was great to see asia sweep up all the awards ;D japan winning and korea placing ms china.....congeniality she looked very strange im sure they could have chosen a better candidate for ms china with their huge population=P and philippines with the photogenic prize, ya it seems phils always wins one of the awards
and USA....her 'national' costume was sth else...but the fall was priceless. i think they were just making it up to japan who seemed really strange walking around like she was under the influence of sth..

Interesting how out of 76 delegates I picked 4 of the top 10. Actually I picked 7 but just didn't care for USA, Mexico, and Venezuela but I knew the politics. While Miss Philippined didn't place, she did win most photogenic and according to BetEd.com and another gambling site, Philippines and Greece (another of my picks) were internet favorites that shockingly didn't make the top 15. www.gambling911.com/Miss-Japan-Miss-Universe-2007-052907.htmlAnyway the point is my eye for beauty isn't THAT different from the rest of the world, at least the Western world (since those were the judges). It makes me wonder if beauty IS subjective. Hey I did pretty good at the odds too

Hey, if you wanna discuss immigration, let's talk about it in another thread, which has been started previously. I'd be happy to deliberate with you about your view points on this. Also, perhaps Mexicans are mad at Americans because the U.S. annexed Texas, etc. from Mexico.

The miss universe contests are not solely based on looks, ofcourse they are looking for a good looker. Every year you'll hear the hosts refer to confidence, style, and composure.. those are some of the judging criteria's. 1st runner up Natalia had the best evening gown of the night it suited her Brazilian Bam everywhere *sweat*

Miss Japan won! Wow, do you think it was to compensate for last year's big mistake? I think the Miss Japan last year was so much more deserving. Last year's Miss Japan is an Eurasian (USXJAPAN)
