that's a hell of a conclusion to jump to based just on hospitalization for an unknown injury, don't you think?and the source is Star magazine.

Yeah, I know, but it's all over the place now. I think I saw something on it on CNN or something earlier, but I just posted the first link that came up when I googled it. Somehow I doubt it was a fully thought out suicide attempt. He was probably just trying to make himself feel better. I think it was coke or heroin related, can't be too sure though...I can't remember. He was probably crashing.

being under that kind of scrutiny is enough to drive anyone nuts, let alone someone who was or had the potential to be unstable to begin with.i'd imagine that being able to handle the money is a fairly small part of the crash-and-burns we see lately. i was under the impression that the police report should somehow legally have remained confidential?maybe someone knows the law better than i do and can fill that in.i just think the whole obsession with putting celebrities in a fishbowl is sad and incredibly damageing not only to the celebrities but to our humanity.

I find it disturbing that all these comedians try to commit suicide.........

To be an armchair psychologist, I think that some emotionally disturbed yet artistically talented people become musicians or comedians to escape from the reality, but after the novelty and euphoria of their successful careers wears off, they come crashing down harder and completely lose it - just like drug addicts - which most of them become anyway, also.

^ I'd also add that I think the desire to be a celebrity is also at least partially fueled by an inferiority complex and a need to be loved. Often they want to be successful so strongly they don't really know what to do with it once they get it. Likewise even the slightest lost of starpower or popularity can result in a shattered ego and downward spiral - just see how many former stars seem to implode instead of simply going on with their lives like most of us would after a breakup or losing a job.

Arm chair psychology is what they told you not to do in Psych class. How about we listen to what he has to say instead of just assuming? Many factors could be envolved.
Anyways, I hope he gets better. The guy is hilarious.
