first post here.
I am told that I look more asian than white, but it's just as it is: asians can tell I'm asian, but are unsure, and everyone else calls me asian. I am Filipino with some Chinese decent on my mom's side, and Scottish and Swiss from my dad's side.

Wow, that's great.
I feel I am put down for not having European flaw, which I think is wrong. I think I should be accepted as both full white Asian and full white European at the same time, without someone saying it doesn't fly because they aren't as good from being "pure" European.
My best friend has both Scottish 10% and Swedish 5%, not sure which side. The other has Scottish, Irish, and English on her dad's side. The other friend also has the Irish and English 20% each. Not sure of the other's %.

I'm definitely an Asian-looking Eurasian. There is not a chance in hell that I could pass for white. I could pass for full Asian in England but I doubt I could in China though. I've got the double eyelid thing and a slightly european headshape. Some people would probably guess but they'd have to look at me up close.

I'm half japanese and I look full (or almost) Asian because I have Asian eyes - unfortunately I'm dont have the stereotypical mixed look My skin is quite bright and my hair is not that black but thats all. I've been unhappy about it for years but now I'm 38 and well I don't make a big deal anymore I'm mostly Asian in Germany (or sometime they just dont know) - but in Japan I'm a foreigner, "something European". Hehe, I will ask by the next chance what makes me looking different One of my customer asked me yesterday if I'm from kazachstan - it happens sometime that people also think that I might me russian.

Today this dude came up to me and said "Are you half Chinese or Japanese?" And I was just like "I'm part both.I pretended not to care but when he went away I was like "Yes!"

Paul, my quarter Japanese Daughter looked really full Asian (asian than the Asians ^^) when she was borned - she looked chinese And an hour after birth, she looked different (mixed) And now, it depends on her mood: sometimes she looks Asian/Eurasian and sometimes not Asian at all. I'll post some pix by chance. But I went through periods where I really didn't want to look Asian, and changed my image by dying my hair and curling it for many years. Then people would think I was Middle Eastern or South American. This summer I went back to straight hair, and instantly almost everyone saw me as Asian again. I die my hair jet black. I love black hair, black/metal/death metal ^^

As much as I hate the ethnicity question I enjoy being mistaken for lots of backgrounds. For the same reason of belonging you mentioned, I too belonging being mistaken for various ethnicities. I'm thrilled when I'm spoken Vietnamese to at the Viet store, Russian at Russian store, or Spanish at Latino store. It's fun passing. Nevertheless no one speaks Korean to me at the Korean store or Arabic in an Arab store but I do get Turkish in a Turkish store. I do hate it when people argue whether I look like something. I feel like an object. One time I was surrounded by 4 persons arguing on my ethnic look. Strange. Of course it's fun being mistaken for different ethnicities, I like it when people guess different Asian ethnicities I would get really bored if people would guess Filipino all the time...

^ Agree, it's amazing how Flat Top can seem to blend in almost anywhere in the world! And anyways we already know that the looking more mixed leaning towards the whiter side are the most popular ;D Who said such a thing? ;D
