I find myself smiling every time I get emails and messages from a special "someone". Tingles too. So promiscuous. Who's the new addition?

After a very frustrating week, I saw this on the weekend and it made me glow (<- understatement of the year). I'm still smiling in fact. It just won't stop. Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night

I just found out I actually have known and met someone on EAN way before I even joined it or knew it existed. I can't stop laughing about it, such a small world indeed. Hmm, I wonder how that could be..

my friend who's been stationed in *somehow i can't remember if it's Iraq or Afghanistan, bad friend* showed up today with his wife and a bit later my grandfather unexpectedly joined the party.lovely surprise!it was fun to hear his stories about getting reaclimated to the US after having been primarily in Germany and the middle east, and it was great to see my grandfather's eyes light up like they did when he saw who my company was (this guy's a friend of the family, not just mine.) ;D

I heard that they conducted a study on the behaviour of the returning soldiers from Iraq because there was some sharp increase in the number of risks the veterans take after they come home. ie. number of deaths of returned veterans rising. It seemed to prove a theory (certainly not a new one) that since the soldiers survived a period stationed in a warzone, they felt they were invincible so were more likely to take risks. Sooo... keep a leash on that one.

I went to a biomedical device manufacturer today and saw a machine that is going to allow many people to live longer and have better quality of life, replacing a risky invasing procedure with a simple and more effective one. It made me smile looking at that hunk of metal, circuit boards, and fiber optics and know that a bunch of nerds who didn't party much in college are going to save so many people.

i had a s***ty day at work, 2 hour OT and major headache. got a caramel machiato after work to cheer me up and for a caffiene/sugar rush. it was a crap cup of coffee. get on the bus, put my bag on the seat next to me and my finished cup of coffee too and start playing my ds. some woman comes to sit in the seat a few stops later, so i go to move my bag and coffee cup, i'd just moved my bag when she sat down, right on the coffee cup, the lid pops off and makes a noise which makes her jump. she quickly moves seats. that made me smile and then chuckle to myself all the way home.
