I've been dying my hair jet black since I was 14. The real colour is light red/brown. Thinking of going back to my natural colour - don't know how I'm going to back out of the black though. are you using permanent or semi-permanent? permanent black can be impossible to get out, unfortunately. i got it taken out once but my hair had to be bleached twice

Oh no! Looks like I'm in for a long painful period of growing it out. I used permanent

When I went from light brown to black I had to change alot of my make up colors. Just keep that in mind if you hate your new color. Might be something as simple as updating your eyeshadow and liner.

I have a straightner but would love to get it chemically straightened. Is it very expensive to get it done? Also how long do the results last for? Thanks! well, i had it done in HK, so it was fairly cheap about HK$400.. i tried getting it done in uk.. but it didnt work and cost way too much. i died my hair at christmas to a brown colour, after 18 months witout dying my hair.. i just got fed up with my hair not coming out the colour on the box.. i cant get it much lighter than my natural colour with out having to damage my hair by bleaching.. maybe i should try a much lighter colour than i want in the hope it will come out to something i want..

dyeing your hair a lighter colour means you're still stripping colour from your hair. so even if it's not as extreme as bleaching, it's still doing damage.

Hmmmm. White boots. Well, there is a monochromatic trend these days, so you could just go with an all white outfit to match your white boots.

are you using permanent or semi-permanent? permanent black can be impossible to get out, unfortunately. i got it taken out once but my hair had to be bleached twice I dyed my hair permanent blue-black two times and both times it faded in less than two months. Maybe it's because my bleached hair combined with swimming in chlorinated water makes the colour last less longer.

Whatever happened to shaving ur head. Dying your hair pink will make u look like something that just came out of manga. Trust me. Could be a good thing if you like that look and I need to see something to remind me not to bleach my hair again. But go for it coz it might turn out great. Regrowth sucks though.

oh yeah, i've done 'permanent' l'oreal noir fatale in the blue black and it faded like crazy! permanent my ass!
speaking of fading.. pink fades liek a motherf***er, razu. just a word of advice. and you would need to get your hair reaaaally light to get cotton candy pink. my hair gets disgustingly strawlike when i bleach it that much. just a warning!

Just getting a few streaks of light brown in my hair caused it to become really brittle and weak. Back in high school, I went all the way and bleached my whole head blonde (what a mistake). It looked absolutely horrible. Then I went through this goth stage and died my hair jet black which ruined it farther. I'm going to have to make a pledge not to color, bleach, or do much of anything to my hair any longer. Too much work and just another thing I have to worry about maintaining.

I was thinking of shaving my head...but then I got really worried about what shape my head is. I've never shaved it before...It doesn't feel bumpy but maybe it's got a weird shape. Okay, unless I get really really f***ing chickens*** (again : I'm going to chop my hair off in two weeks and go to a salon to have it dyed one of the following: blood red, cotton candy pink, lilac, or sky blue. I haven't decided which yet. I'm leaning towards red or lilac the most right now. I think it'll look good and honestly (at this particular moment) I'm completely fed up with having long hair.
