Raised in Oakland, I was pretty much trained to hate white people. From kindergarten on, I learned of all the massacres white people took upon. How they massacred Indians, enslaved blacks, etc. Even in the story books, the white guy was always the bad guy. I think that still has influence in my views today. Pocahantas disgusted me. Dumb Native American girl falling for a man whose people is raping and destroying you. I wanted to b1tch slap her. lol. I would in real life too.
To make mattters worse, the white side of my family totally cut off connections because my dad married an Asian. They visited here and there, but we were treated as that step child..if you know what I'm saying.
Does this mean I go out of my way to hate whites and don't have white friends? No. But I'm more likely to be racist against whites, and I feel less comfortable around most whites.
What reinforced my hatred more was how I was isolated by whites in HS. But looking back on it, i think it had more to do with Social class, since they had a few rich Chinese and even Mixed race people in their group.
As i grow older, I now believe that Social discrimination is more prelavent than racial racism. The rich are always going to look down poorer people, and they will always feel they are better. In America, it's the poor that gets discriminated against more than anything.

I still stick with my original stance in this thread. Which was something along the lines of: white men = phooey! Asian men = yes, please! Wow, you're like one of the minority of EA/Asian girls who think that way, lol. IMO white men are much more likely to be vain and cocky bastards who will cheat, whereas Asian men tend to be more loyal and dedicated boyfriends/husbands/whatever. Besides, Asians/ea's have higher income/education by statistics than white. Look at whose now the majority at institutions like UCLA UC berkeley, etc. For me, some white girls are cool as long as they are really liberal. But a lot of East Asian girls really annoy me with them being racist against their own culture. I was laughign when i saw this CHinese girl who brought her white friends to a Chinese restaurant and she was eating with a fork while her white friends were all trying to use chopsticks. What a loser. I think EA and Hmong girls= yes please! :-D

Sorry, my white side is such a racist bastard:( That really reminds me of this recurring nightmare I had as a teenager (probably to do with feeling torn because of my background): I was under a bridge hanging out by myself and this crowd of Asian teenage boys and white teenage boys ran down after me and started beating and kicking the sh*t out of me.

i'm really really really picky about dating asian girls. i've dated two asian girls in the past. now i'm so picky there's really not much of a fair chance at all for them. this doesn't apply at all to mixed people, just pure asians. i'm dating a white girl now, and i've dated white girls in the past, but i'm not really crazy about them. the only woman in my life that i would marry is asian however. i could spend my life with that lady and be really happy.
the only time i look past personality and individual looks in getting with someone is if they're indian or middle eastern. hindu and muslim culture fascinate me, and i love dark skin. it's pretty sad how prejudiced it actually is, but it's pretty much the only 2 cultures that seem exotic to me anymore. i grew up in a melting pot.

^ Yeah I'm kind of picky about asian guys too, though when I see the rare one here I find myself stopping and staring and somewhat smiling! Haha
Back home I wasn't really attracted to Indian guys or none of my friends who were Indian anyway, but I've seen two really really really good-looking Indian guys and one lives on my floor.
I guess I'm only racist towards my side when I say things like: "I'm not FULL asian!!!!!!" and make it sound like such an insult - I just like being regarded as both asian and caucasian and not just "the asian girl walking down the street". Apart from that, I tell everyone how much I love Asia and that they should visit. I usually get "yeah suuuurrreeeee someday."

i used to be really anti-asian growing up, i guess because i grew up in a predominantly white area and all my friends were white. i'm now starting to grow out of that, and i'm meeting a lot of asian people. with dating, i'm really picky with the guys i date and want to date a white guy/mixed guy, only because i want my children to be really mixed, and not really asian looking. but as i grow older, people have been telling me i'm starting to more asian, which is starting to attract the asian guys. i just feel that if i start dating one of these guys, all my friends are gonna be like, who's this asian guy? and it'd just annoy me.

tRiCiA: Um, can I ask, are you a half/half mix? Because if you are I don't see how being with a white guy would make your kids more mixed than being with an Asian guy...It would make the kids 3/4 white and 1/4 Asian or 3/4 Asian and 1/4 white respectively...Exactly the same amount mixed.

@ Disco: yep. i'm half/half. i had initially stated that i'd date white/mixed guys. with the mixed guys, i would have more mixed looking children and i think that's what i want. i don't really want to annhilate my asianness/whiteness in my children. while, yes you're right it would be pretty much the same thing if i were to have a child with a white guy or an asian guy, they'd just look more asian or white.

CJF said: Hey, CJF you grew up in Oakland, I grew up in San Francico. I really agree with you regarding the social or more like class discrimination. However, people tend to associate particular races (especially complexion wise -black, brown, some tans and yellows) with being on a lower socio-economic brackett. People have alot of class assumptions-and tend to paint people from particular areas in one stripe without regard of individual variables. I think I'll start a thread on this topic. We need to discuss. What High School did you go to in Oakland? If you don't mind me asking.

People assume that because I'm Chinese and Jewish that I should be weahtly....BULLSH#@#t bUT in the end people are going to get to know who you are. They may be prejudice at first but the minute they learn your economic/social standings is what will determine racism. I grew up in Oakland until 5th grade actually. Like I said, I was indoctrinated as a kid to hate white people in OUSD. Then I lived in Tracy and used to commute to Oak, so I still had the same friends until HS etc. Most of my friends were Mexican...because I looked Mexican and had the same social class etc. I lived right on 13th avenue across from Edna Bruer Middle School, so I would have went to Oakland High which was a few blocks away. You live in SF? Which HS did you go to? Maybe we'll meet someday! ;D

I think Being used by your Boy friend or Significant other has nothing to do with being a Racial trait. I think you're just attracted to the wrong guys. do like what others have said and dont get into a sexual relationship till later.
now to get on topic... Growing up in hawaii i guess i suffered from reverse racism. I was kinda looked down upon cause i looked more white. But after High School, i really didnt feel much discrimination at all. Am I a Racist towards my Asian side i would say no. I actually tend to be more attracted to Asian Girls than whites. But in the end, its the person that counts.
Anyways, this thread made me think about song sung by smash mouth. I hope this isnt against the rules lol. if it is let me know or you can edit it.

i don't care i mean like because people are eurasian or just plain white or asian or hispanic or whatever doesn't make them any more special than other people we are alll PEOPLE gah i hate it when people go all elitist like omg look at meee i'm so 'special' AWESOME!!!!! get a life people being unique does not come from JUST their cultural heritage no offense but most people who are eurasian technically are being pretty f***ing disrespectful to be more against one side or the other considering what your parents or grandparents are you should be ashamed of yourself anti-white or anti-asian when you yourself are both and not to mention your family gah on the hypocritical side i've tended to go out with more asians possibly because i used to live in malaysia where there are not tooooo many whites once i moved to melbourne most whites call me a fob due to my accent so whatever azn pryde my arse
