I have said this to more than one Eurasian on occasion and now is the time to reveal to to you all.
Asia Is Surreal.
I.e. it isnt real.
A world where 18 year old expat kids dance with cambodian hookers, a world where 80 year old white men actually think theyre halfway decent looking and acting (with their 18 year old brides), a world where Eurasians actually think by virtue of their heritage they actually have something over the native populace (but in reality, they truly are no better or worse than anyone else).
Well, thats surreal.
That is Asia.
Discuss.

Sometimes I visit South East Asia to mix with the riff raff for a bit, but I soon return to the bubble of safety and civilisation that is East Asia.

A world where 18 year old expat kids dance with cambodian hookers... [ ] Well, thats surreal. That is Asia. Discuss. I was at this club in Phnom Penh with Jenniferbrook a few months back and there was this 13/14yr old white kid piss drunk dancing with the hoes. In fact, now that I think about it, the entire place was littered with teenagers from the int'l school.... gangsta Cambodian deportees from the US...... some old euros on sex tours..... and hoes. I love Asia!

no. the US is surreal. i was in this history class and here are some of my classmates responses to why there are chinese immigrants : "they come here to spread their culture and take over the us" "they put harmful stuff in dog foods and make "defective" toys just for the sake of harming us americans. it s a conspiracy. the chinese are out to get us !" that s when a few people turned heads to look at me and i started shrinking in my sit. rednecks are surreal ! lol ^ That gave me the biggest laugh today. I know its dark of me... (I take it that where you're at isn't very culturally inclined.. As for the 'surrealness' of asia, it's not just 80 year old white men.... my dad is one of the 80 year old asian natives that went to America, carved out a life there (married/house/kids/retired with pension), then came back to the philippines acting like some kind of big shot; paying for the attention of some gold digging teenage farmer's daughters.

^ agreed.
poor areas are places people with money can "misbehave". They live in societies with actual rules and are expected to think of other people's humanity, and it's tiring, i suppose. It's easier to just not pay attention. And when there's such a big difference between "haves and have nots", and the have nots are willing to do whatever to change their situation, it's way easier for the haves to break out of the rules that they're used to.
it's not limited to white folks. in many cases, the white folks watch asian folks misbehave, and only after that realize how easy it is.

Here’s your basic cross-section of pinoy balikbayan society: - Newly minted US citizens or greencard holding maids, retail sales ppl, post office employees and laborers in N. America who go back to the pines to be feted as kings/queens. - Bottle cap kings (Chinoy business owners) from MNL who can't start a legitimate business in the US .... and eventually return to their Alabang/Greenbelt estates to preserve face and keep their corrupt cash cow monopolies and luxurious lifestyles intact - The entertainment "stars" who live as paupers in the suburbs of SF and Seattle ….. who having made no dent in the US entertainment industry beyond an appearance with a c-list celebrity (e.g., Hasselhoff, Kenny Loggins), return triumphantly to the pines having “made it big in the US” and name-drop like there’s no tomorrow - Mestizo/spaniards..... who live off the large estates and plantations granted to their forefathers 300 years ago……they lack complete business sense, but at least have the brains to know their limitations and as such, stay close to the hacienda, revel in the moreno stares/adulation…. and continually inbreed so their children may enjoy the same lifestyle. Thankfully there are exceptions….. apparently
