It's surreal because you're in a bar and drunk and it's late at night when making those observations.

Here’s your basic cross-section of pinoy balikbayan society: - Newly minted US citizens or greencard holding maids, retail sales ppl, post office employees and laborers in N. America who go back to the pines to be feted as kings/queens. And what about the retired Filipino professionals: doctors, lawyers, university professors, Navy officers etc. who are buying up prime island beachfront and building luxurious estates? You conveniently leave them out... Nothing but maids, laborers, etc., huh? Right... O.K., I'll concede this one... In this case, you seem to know what you are talking about. Hmm. Inaccurate on multiple levels... Getting your little stereotype digs in again, huh? You know, someone was gonna have to call you on this. Just a reminder, this was supposed to be about balikbayan society. LOL, you construct a list of nonsense stereotypes and then graciously concede that exceptions exist. I love it. At least, I had a good laugh, which is what I assume you were really aiming for.

I have said this to more than one Eurasian on occasion and now is the time to reveal to to you all. Asia Is Surreal. I.e. it isnt real. A world where 18 year old expat kids dance with cambodian hookers, a world where 80 year old white men actually think theyre halfway decent looking and acting (with their 18 year old brides), a world where Eurasians actually think by virtue of their heritage they actually have something over the native populace (but in reality, they truly are no better or worse than anyone else). Well, thats surreal. That is Asia. Discuss. That sounds like South East Asia. I'm in East Asia and it's not really like that. Sometimes I visit South East Asia to mix with the riff raff for a bit, but I soon return to the bubble of safety and civilisation that is East Asia. sorry, maybe not in tokyo but in girls still throw themselves at losers gaijin in this part of Japan. Its surrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreal
