I have perfected god's gift to humanity by making them last forever. I've frozen blueberries.
If tomorrow never came, I would be complete. I'm certain this was my calling.
When I'm dead I want to be buried in a field of blueberries. And I want a giant blueberry coffin.
Don't put a pearl in my mouth. I want a real blueberry.
And don't be stupid and freeze me or anything like that. Freeze the blueberry.
Hail blueberry.

Well, a blueberry is kind of round, so will you be curled up into a ball to fit inside the giant blueberry coffin? Rigor mortis might make that kind of hard.

Blueberries freeze well.
Blackberries and raspberries freeze ok.
Apples don't.
Mangoes are OK.
Bananas do. especially when peeled and covered in chocolate.
Grapes... not so much.
Pomegranate - nope.
durian - yes.
Citrus - not unless you're making juice with it later.
Plum/Apricots/Peaches/other drupes: I don't think so, but am not sure.
Pineapple... yes!
Lychee/Longan/Rambutan? They do pretty good, but are of course better fresh.
Avocado - yes.
Watermelon/honeydew/cantaloupe/other melon - I wouldn't.

I buy blueberries frozen anyway haha, I use snack on them only occasionally and besides I love putting them in my mouth frozen and melting them before having a chew ^ I'm glad for the tip on avo's. Next time they are down below a dollar, I'm filling my freezer with them! Or I might just try 5 or so to start

^i m having the most urgent craving for frozen durian mangosteens don t freeze well but dragon fruits do ! Well, a blueberry is kind of round, so will you be curled up into a ball to fit inside the giant blueberry coffin? Rigor mortis might make that kind of hard. but it s so much more visually pleasing to picture a blueberry coffin as opposed to a banana or kiwi coffin that would better suit the human body shape !

i've had good experiences with freezing grapes!my favorite way to eat them is frozen anyway, but i've found that they seem to retain their 'bite' fairly well once they thaw.canned grapes are among the most awful things in the world, though. and frozen bananas.heaven.though i'm more partial to a dollop of peanut butter on frozen banana slices than chocolate dipped. and Cel,congratulations on your blueberry freezing.i buy them frozen because it's a better value and blend them while they're still rock hard with yogurt for breakfast.it's so thick it's like sorbet.yummm.i'm drooling mentally.i've eaten this for breakfast for a little over a month now and i'm still not sick of it. peaches freeze alright, not sure about other stonefruit. melons might not be pleasant to eat thawed, but if you freeze them in chunks they make really nice refreshing blended beverages. and cocktails .

I find that store-bought frozen peaches are good for blending, but I've never tried freezing fresh peaches (I usually only like to eat my peaches CRUNCHY, though). it may be worth trying, though. I haven't had good experiences with grapes, either. Then again, this all could have to do with the kind of grapes used.

Interesting.. I have never frozen fruit.. but I've been reading up recipes for smoothies (and cocktails!) and a lot seem to suggest using frozen fruit to make the drinks. I'll have to look into this more.
Do the fruits maintain all the vitamins / goodness when frozen?

couldn't say for sure on the nutrients thing, but surely it's better than no fruit,or canned. this is my favorite girlie drink,Helles- vodka frozen melon of choice cut in small chunks (i like watermelon or honeydew) sour watermelon liqueur (Puckers brand here in the states) or a good splash of some other sour component, like lime juice bit of lemon lime soda chuck in a blender and swirl to frothy goodness. since i only drink these when i'm being fancy i like to serve them in glasses with colored sugar on the rim and garnish with a melon ball in the glass.not something you want to drink a pitcher of by yourself, but very tasty.

Banana is by far my most favorite fruit, but not because it's yellow on the outside and white on the inside.
