Sorry this picture is huuge...but aren't the dresses pretty? First time I ever wore a Tai outfit, taken at a wedding last summer.

I'm wearing a Han bok in my signature picture. My goodness those things are made for modesty. At least it's easier to walk with, compared to kimono or qi pao.

^Gorgeous. I'm a sucker for clothes worn by Chinese opera singers, however... especially the headdresses and ornaments.

I think Desi folks have the MOST elaborate costumes of all people. These people really have crazy gorgeous costumes. I agree. Their jewelry is amazing as well. I was curious about the traditional dress of Siberians, and found this site: nrsm.nsc.ru/sibir/abor/peopleq.htmOne of the pictures of a little girl on that site.

That last one is interesting. her headgear kind of reminds me of the pope, but also of a chainmail coif. She's like a eurasian-looking pope-knight who doesn't want to be there.

If you want to see (literally) a BEAUTIFUL Cheongsam in every scene of the movie watch: "In the Mood for Love" by Wong Kar Wai Maggie Cheung graces a different cheongsam in every scene...and they are simply beautiful. The follow up "2046" also features Zhang Ziyi wearing more gorgeous cheongsams. Also what really caught my attention was Zhang Ziyi wearing a typical aristocratic costume in the scene where she's painting calligraphy & entertaining Michelle Yeoh...here's a pic from another scene in the movie where she is wearing something similar;
