"Why do you like that site so damn much, Kat? What knowledge have you gained from it?"
Rice pride, redeem me! What options do I have with rice cookers nowadays? Any recommendations?
I thought I could last with a 2 cup microwavable cooker but it's not cutting it. Ideally I'd like something that is a versatile cooker, has a keep warm feature, and will last. Which brand? The typical Asian powerhouses all cookers strive to be or the not-quite-there-but-efforts-will-be-noted brands? Any stereotypical views applied shall be pondered over and henceforth deem you either black or white.
And what rice cooker stories have you? Did you happen to trip over one and ruin your grandma's saht rug? Or have you been giggled at trying to scrape up the last few brown pieces at the bottom?

Well, I don't really cook and I only eat a small portion of rice because its too much carbs. I think any rice cooker will do its not like it comes out differently..

^ Yah.. it probably doesn't matter much... So...I went downstairs and examined my rice cooker. ;D Ours is a Tiger brand and it’s got a pretty pink flower print on the side. (ooo alliteration) My mom bought it in an Asian food store a while ago when the old rice cooker died. The old one always looked angry and disgruntled to me anyway... lol... the new one is brighter and more pleasant. It's also double the size of the old one. It doesn’t burn as much on the bottom either and... it came with a scooper/spoon and attachable holder! I think that it is a little bit on the expensive side (my dad spazzed out and wanted to return it) but it’s worth it since I have a big family and we cook large quantities of rice daily.

^ That looks exactly like my friends. Is it weird that I don't have a rice cooker nor do I usually eat rice? Yet when I go to Tim's that all I tend to eat unless his parents are makin pasta (as I don't eat the other random stuff eh :/)
-Brandon
(I should prob clarify Tim = asian friend w/ rice cooker, though anyone can prob guess that)

I have a microwavable cooker but I dislike having to reheat rice. Out of the fridge rice doesn't taste so good...

^ Sorry, I didn't specify. I'm talking about a rice cooker you use in the microwave.. meaning you just add uncooked rice to water and in 5-10 minutes you have steamed rice. Lazy asians.

now ur confusing me... Do you put the entire cooker in the microwave? and if so, wouldn't it be easier just to use a microwave? I really have no clue what I'm talkin bout though seeing as I've never made rice or really anything beyond cold sandwiches -Brandon
