I'm new to the forums and this is my *very* first post.
My mother is from the Philippines and also of mixed heritage, and my father is caucasian.
Technically, I am 1/4 Chinese, 3/16 Filipino, 1/16 Spanish, 1/4 Welsh and 1/4 Scotch-Irish, but when people ask (which they often do as I'm sure you are all used to), I usually just tell them that I'm half Chinese-filipino and half white.
Since I live in the South, which is generally lacking in people of the asian persuasion, I am usually mistaken for Latino, Puerto Rican, or American-Indian.
Also, I am so thankful to my mother that she taught me to speak both Tagalog and Visayan (her native dialect) as a child.

Welcome aboard. It may be rare that your mom taught you the languages. Most Americans I know of Filipino ancestry don't seem to speak it as a result of their parent's misplaced desire to assimilate them fully.

owwhh heck it's a eurasian what kinda thing you are thingy thread.... hmmm I'm like a moluccan/indonesian/chinese/portuguese kinda messed up fella but isn't mollucan the same as indonesian? nope....moluccans don't consider themself as indonesian...although the maluku islands is under the republic of indonesia...long story...indonesians are Jawanese...we have our differences ...they look different from each other...speak different languages..maluccan speaks malay ..indonesian speaks indonesia... and the most silly thing is they can't stand each other..RMS vs Indo pride...and if you are both like me ..then you are screwed [/quote] the majority of ppl of moluccas r christian and majority of christians in moluccus r against seperatism. all the islands of indonesia have differing looks...there's not one indonesian look, and the mollucas has its own look aswell. like ppl form bali don't look the same as ppl from palembang.

How much does it cost to have the DNA traced ? ^^ There is a company called DNA print Genomics I believe which offers it for about $250 USD. I will send the link later but google "ancestry by DNA" and it should have a link.

I'm 1/2 Japanese and 1/2 english-scottish-dutch-german. Or so they say... my Dad's family has been in the US for so long that there are all sorts of mixes on my "white" side too. Rumor has it there's some native american in there... not that my blue-eyed granny would ever admit to it!
