Making a bow and gift decoration out of pens and paper: 10 Points. Documentation of said effort: 100 Points.

I concur, SiamIam, you are a true artisan. I like a little bit of woodcraft but I would be too shy to post a picture of my efforts here. It would not look anywhere near as artful as your craft.

;D Glad to see my "work" away from work can make someone smile. My coworkers don't know there's something accountable for the odd insane giggles coming from my cubicle. I concur, SiamIam, you are a true artisan. I like a little bit of woodcraft but I would be too shy to post a picture of my efforts here. It would not look anywhere near as artful as your craft. I know the feeling. Just take a glance at other posts in this thread and you'll see there are many talents here. But, really, there should be no comparison. Your work is your own. I would love to see your art craft.

I love these shoes, they're probably my most comfortable sandals, but they looked rather plain. So I figured I jazz 'em up some and make it my own Before After

Thanks! For the coloring, I mixed some fabric paints(in pink and silver, if I remember correctly) and glued on the stones/jeweled parts. I don't remember exactly what material the stars are made of, but they came in a pack which was pretty cheap so. I'm currently doing some needlework myself(cross-stitching), about 80% done with my latest piece, will post it when it's completed!

I recently put together a spray booth for my airbrushing using a canvas board, plywood & Filtration cloth. So now I don't airbrush furniture whilst working on a project. bit of A4 paper covering the front. You can see the black velcro strap on the side so changing the F.cloth is easy & holds tight & the back, made in china Its not a proper spray booth atm because it needs a vacuum compressor to suck the airborne paint particles through the Filtration catch. But I don't have one so I put A4 paper in the spray area instead. If I ever do find a small quiet vacuum cleaner to dismantle or a compressor, I'll probably build a new booth anyway - than it would be a proper airbrush booth. I'll use my breathing mask in the mean time

Soleil - that is amazing. Wow. How many hours did you put into that? And, more importantly-- what are you going to do with it?
And I must say-- you look so much like your mum!

Man, something like that would have taken me FOREVER! It would have looked like Benjamin Button -- young at the top, old at the bottom. That's such a nice thing to do for her! And to think, people were grumbling about having to call their mom now and then

thanks, halfbreed. I took the pictures with Bahzad's fancy shmancy dslr. Pictures from a dslr just turn out so much nicer!
Soleil, holy crap. That is amazing!! She must have been thrilled with it.

And to think, people were grumbling about having to call their mom now and then Soleil, holy crap. That is amazing!! She must have been thrilled with it. Thanks all! I couldn't pin-point a number of hours it took me, as this isn't exactly something I could afford to do in one sitting or keep track of. I just know I started it some time in late August. Hypothetically, if I had all the time in the world to be doing nothing else but this, I would've finished it in less than a month; but realistically, because of my busy/changing schedule, it was a series of doing little by little, during my down times in between work and school, whenever I had the chance. It's a hobby of mine that helps keep me sane I gave it to my mom afterwards. She was so thrilled by it, she put it out on display in the living room That's what I plan to do with each of these- giving them to the people they're made for. I've done many cross-stitching pieces since I was in middle school, but this was the first one in which it was personalized; and I plan to sort of build a portfolio with one-of-a-kind personalized pieces of work. I just began my next piece of needlework, and they'll be getting it too when I'm done As for people and their moms, I currently live in the same house as mine, so I don't really have to be reminded Even when I used to live on my own though, it wasn't a bother, considering how I'd just moved out here, didn't really know anyone/have friends, so my phonecalls with her made it a little less lonely. While she's got her quirks/shortcomings and I've had my gripes about her as well, at the end of the day, she's one of the closest people to me. She's my best support but worst critic at the same time.
