Hard to remember MLK day in China. Ain't got NUTHIN' like that here. Our power was off at work, so i got a day off anyway, though As much as I love driving, and having lived in the US for most my life, i still have never done a cross-country road trip. Driving is by far the best way to see the US. The size and freedom and quality of the highway systems there always impresses me when I go back home.

Wow, no offense but those were pretty funny (Chasers is hilarious)... I guess it wouldn't hurt to check out the world news every now and then... That's pretty scary... What do American children do in Geography class?

I've at least passed through almost all of the lower 48 and Hawaii, except some of the way out of the way ones like Minnesota and Wisconsin, mostly on various road trips through the years, though I did fly to Hawaii....

^^^ I've done that a couple of times and a couple of times in a car. Make sure you spend the time to stop and "smell the roses", it will be well worth it. I've done LA to Seattle in about a day and a half in a car before, we didn’t see much on the way but then again that wasn’t the point… don’t ask.

Yep! I used to do LA to Sacramento a lot because of school, it was always a mad rush ("can I do it in under 6 hours?"), holding pee, running the gas tank to fumes...hahah. I'm surprised I never ended up stranded in Coalinga or Hanford or something. My first moto trip I decided to take US101 down to Los Angeles. I didn't realize how long it would take! It was windy, foggy and generally f***ed up. I remember laying down on a picnic table at a rest stop and seeing the Hale-Bop comet. You could see it perfectly...I was out in the middle of nowhere. Probably near SLO or something. I was so tired... The US101 is a magnificent ride, with all the sea side cliff hanging switch backs and secluded mini beaches were the cliffs and pines come right up to the sand… in summer the weather is much better. The first time I did that stretch on a bike was with my Father when I was 17, he’d just gotten the brand new R100RS BMW and he still had his old R75 so he took me on a two week road trip around the western US. Lol, but what I remember most was the ½ dozen times I was almost killed on the road trying keep up with my old man (he’d been riding for over 30 years by then and had raced on an amateur level); On the US101 I hit an avoidable patch of gravel right in the middle of one of thoughts cliff hanging hair pin turns, the rear tire hit one of the small rocks and started to slide out from under me because I was in a turn. Fortunately it was just for a for just a split second, the tire rolled off the rock after sliding and inch or two and I regain control before the bike when down. So take your time and enjoy the scenery and buy good tires.

I'm determined to keep this thread up because I"m an American lol If I don't show pride then who will?
So like, Valentine's day is comming up. Even though it's hardly an American-only holiday, is anyone gonna celebrate it? How?
I'll probably be at home drinking myself stupid. Or not.

I love Valentines even when I was single I really don't know why. I just really like making cards and giving friends candy. I'm not lovey dovey but I usually try to make a nice dinner and some yummy cupcakes afterwards. I never bother to make plans to go out for dinner no point since all resturants are packed.

So aside from all the different states you have been to, which would you never want to go to again. There are some crazy people in Utah... that is all I'm going to say
