Some of you might not like this one, because it's very very old, but there's a silent film from 1919 called "Broken Blossoms." It's about a poor British girl who falls in love with a Chinese immigrant. Probably the first "EA movie" ever made. Broken Blossoms

I had no Eurasian experience vibe from "Lost in Translation" at all -- indeed "Blade Runner, or even Matrix would seem more Eurasian to me than Lost in Translation. How on earth do you get a Eurasian vibe from Blade Runner? Or even Matrix for that matter? I dont know I just find Lost in Translation says so much. And without dialogue just with pictures.

I've heard black people rant about Hollywoods habit of using mixed black women to play an attractive black woman. I've heard Asian people wonder similarly about the use of mixed Asians used as Asian images in fashion etc (particularly with men). But a half Dutch/Half Chinese Canadian girl playing an Indian woman? That's gotta be insulting. Particularly when there are so many drop dead gorgeous Indian women to choose from. About as convincing as seeing Jessica Alba play a tribal Malay woman. Kristin also plays white in Smallville and ehm asian or eurasian in that edgemont Ive heard about.

Well, jefe already did But isn't choosing your identity up to the individual anyway? You can ignore your racial heritage, try to ride that line, or identify with either white/asian side. Is any one less valid then the other?

^ So, you think it is impossible to identify with both sides simultaneously?
I found myself unwilling to ignore my racial heritage, but also impossible to identify with only one side.
But I admit that socially speaking, I am about 80-90% skewed. But that is only one aspect of identity.

somtimes i think eurasians should become our own race/culture but then our parents/grandparents were monoracial and we should be connected with them

I meant "riding that line" as identifying with both simultaneously. It's a distinct challenge. I think most of us would think it's the superior choice, but it's not the only one, nor does it have to be the right one for everyone.
