I'm not quite sure where to put this thread. I was reading more travel narratives this past week and realized there's an even greater array or wider spectrum than what I thought there was regarding the issue of HOME. Where is your home? If you've moved once or more than once, have you made anywhere your home? What is "home" anyway? What defines it? Are they some government documents? Are they "home cooking"? Is it your place of birth? Where you set up shop? Where your house is? I've been turning this over in my head again and again. What on gods green earth (or not) is home?

Hmmm.. very interesting question. My home is.... well, I guess I don't have one. I don't feel home here. All I've wanted to do since I settled down is hit the road again.

^ That's an interesting concept of home. Cooking, huh? Well, like they say, the way to a Droid's oil pumping unit is thru the food disposal systems.

I wonder whether I really get to live somewhere else in the world (I so want to!!! and I would want to live in SEVERAL places along the time) and I wonder how my feelings change then. I wouldn't recommend USA if you don't want to put up with the suffocating thinly-veiled racism.

^ This is a cliched response probably, but my mom = home to me.
Outside of that I've found that I'm able to make my home fairly easily wherever I am. As long as I have a few key things around me that just reek of ME ME ME -- it becomes home.
I think I like bounding around too much at the moment to be able to call any ONE place my true home, but if I absolutely had to, it'd obviously be New York City. I come and I go but I always seem to just get back into the rhythm of things there so easily. We understand each other.

I wouldn't recommend USA if you don't want to put up with the suffocating thinly-veiled racism. I also wouldn't recommend the USA if you don't want to put up with people who need external scapegoats (especially fantasy-based ones) for the difficulties they encounter in life.

Right now, home is wherever Dad lives. Hopefully in the next year, home will be with my mates in a s***ty apartment.
