Humans spread disease and pestilence. We should always wear gloves and masks and be forced to bleach our hands every five minutes. And shaking hands, kissing, hugging, etc should be outlawed as well. I have a cold.

People should just have the decency to wash their f***ing hands and cover themselves when they cough/sneeze.

I have a cold too But I would rather have the human interaction than see kissing & hugging outlawed! edit: I should say that I sit for 12hrs a day in air-con at work, so that doesn't really help.

I get really grossed out by bar soaps in public washrooms. You find little hairs and things on them and you wonder about where they've been...
I've been trying to get into the habit of carrying around hand sanitizer.
I hope you get well soon .

Ahhhh, i cannot use public soap bars. I mean, I know that it's soap, and it's clean, but f**kING HELL, people touched it with their dirty bodies(Insert "people touched YOUR MOM with their dirty bodies")! And this is after touching their poop residue!

I remember in Primary school we had to use bars of soap in those nets. when i think about it now, thats not exactly that hygienic :x and how you have to touch the tap by twisting it :x Im so glad im not in primary school now and most public bathrooms have automatic taps where you just put your hand underneath

I too have a cold and I think I caught it from my friend or her daughter. I've noticed the increasing amount of automated taps and soap dispensers everywhere in public lately.

My cold is almost gone, hooray! But I still think masks and gloves should be mandatory. And children should be banished to an island somewhere to fend for their germy selves.

This has never really been a concern of mine. Not to say I'm unhygienic, but I've never had the flu in my life, have only ever woken up with the sniffles which might last a couple of hours and haven't been actually sick since I had tonsilitis at 10 years old. A few days spent in bed with shocking hangovers, but that has nought to do with my immune system. So I actually find myself becoming increasingly nonchalant about things that could make me sick, like dropping food on the floor and still eating it etc. The thought of getting sick because I didn't bring a warm jumper out doesn't even occur to me, nor does whether I should be close to someone who has the flu. No one has managed to get me yet Saying that, I reckon when I fall, I'll fall hard.

Over the years I acquired a friend who had a failing immune system. It was bad when we first knew each other about 6 years ago, but her immune system has pulled the plug. She takes antiviral medications and pro-active treatments that replace the vitamins and "good" bacteria in her body. She catches anything and everything. Prior to her immune system zeroing out, she had typhoid for over a year. Kind of incredible too since we traveled for a few weeks together.
She hated taking her vitamins and used to malnourish herself when she was younger. She's a born fighter, but sometimes I hate to say, not too bright. It's a pity this is permanent but I love her anyway.

emm...Im sorry for raining on your parade but the more human avoid germs the weaker theyre self defense system will be. You will give birth to a generation that need to knit a glove to their hand and consider mask as theyre make-up before they brave the world. Ofc its cold season so almost everyone have the same problem. I had pneumonia last month.

I think this thread was meant as a joke Ave. I got sick just before Christmas and I still have a cough but it doesn't mean I don't care about not infecting others (outside of my family heh heh). People who are sick should be extra careful with their hygiene and avoid working if they have to be in close proximity to people, especially the sick, young and elderly. Parents with sick kids - keep them at home for Christ's sake! They're too young to know how to avoid infecting others. I agree that germaphobes take things too far but there's nothing advantageous about catching the flu every year. Many viruses constantly mutate so exposing yourself to one strain one year is not likely to protect you from another strain the following year.
